Sheffield 2015

Recommended Posts

That injury has cost him dearly, the State Championship would have been somewhere he could have got him back this season, hopefully he will be fit and raring to go and get that result in the State Championship and get himself back over here to ride for us.

Going to be very difficult filling his spot in the team, I would imagine that Andre Compton would be favourite.

Other possibilities are

Pepe Franc but problems with overseas commitments.

Tero Aarnio possible rides Sweden on Thursday.

Anders Thomsen looked good at Sheffield but question marks about the standard of his equipment,

Todd Kurtz, has connections with the Drillerman, but would he get a visa to ride.

Todd doesn't need a visa I believe

Wouldn't Ben Wilson fit in.

Were quick enough to call him back from Stoke last year an now appears surplus to requirements or has he retired again or I missed something?

I'm sure Ben would be an option but the promotion will probably want to make best use of the average we have, if we used Ben we'd be a point below the points limit.

Proctor should be OK as he averaged 4+ in the EL last season and one of the criteria is to average 4 in the EL.

As for you argument for him getting a work permit, the counter argument would be that while Taylor is here doing a job Andre Compton or some other Brit could do he is putting them in the dole queue. He's not really adding anything to British Speedway. Would you be happy if they let him in to work in McDonalds or stack shelves for Tesco when there are 1000's of Brits out of work?

Im not arguing he should be given a work permit as he doesn't make the criteria,my point is we let plenty into this country who have no intention of working.I still think he had a good case with his injuries and I think he would have upped his average significantly.Any way we now have to move on wether its andre or not .Good luck to the promotors sorting a replacement.

This is where the rules being implemented are unfortunate. Yes we want to see the best talent over here but injuries will be a huge factor especially if it all comes down to riding in one meeting.

Hopefully Taylor will not be too disillusioned and work hard over in Aus to come back stronger.

I think Tay tried a 'properjob' and didnt much like it!

Every incentive for him to do whats needed to get accepted.

Hope to see him back next year. Fully fit IMO he is well worth a place.
