Sheffield 2015

Recommended Posts

Gutted for Taylor Poole, he is a great kid and I think if stayed injury free this year then he could easily achieve the required average to keep rider in UK, hope he keeps his chin up and next winter he can do well in state championship so he can return in 2016 and hopefully be back at Sheffield.

As for his replacement I am unsure if Compton wants to return after that crash even though he was slowly getting back to his best at the time of crash so if he fancies it then great but if not maybe Franc would be a good shout, good home and away !

Gutted for Taylor, but given his average and the rules its not unexpected. You would expect that a fit Andre would be the person who is more than able to fill the void, but is he fit? Wouldn't mind seeing Pepe back in the team, last time he rode for us I feel that he was harshly treated because he came into the team as a number one, something he clearly wasn't when you look at his average, as a second string / third heat leader he is more than capable. The only draw back with Pepe is availability, he missed a lot of meetings because of continental commitments

Big blow so near to start of season.Has Ty proctor got his ? Its a shame that Taylor wants to come here to entertain and work for his money not just come for all the freebies we dish out to all and sundrie who have no intention of getting a job !!!!!!!!! Does Todd Kurtz fit ?

Proctor should be OK as he averaged 4+ in the EL last season and one of the criteria is to average 4 in the EL.

As for you argument for him getting a work permit, the counter argument would be that while Taylor is here doing a job Andre Compton or some other Brit could do he is putting them in the dole queue. He's not really adding anything to British Speedway. Would you be happy if they let him in to work in McDonalds or stack shelves for Tesco when there are 1000's of Brits out of work?

No Taylor for Tigers this season, gutted :(

Have to agree gutted but not surprised.

Looks like the Promotion were hoping that they could appeal on Taylor's behalf that due to injury he was unable to make the State Championship.

But looks like the powers that be are sticking rigidly to the rules.

And rightfully it looks he's been told to enter them next year, to come back to British Speedway in 2016.

Welcome to our World !!! Looks like Workington are not going to be the only team the visa issue affects

Bloody disgusting when you look at the amount of people that are in this country sponging off everything and everyone they can, with no intentions of ever doing anything.

Just hope that Sheffield can find an adequate replacement for Taylor, and that he's able to return in 2016, and the same goes for all the guys stuck in the middle of this situation.

Of course rules are rules, cannot help but feel that the Aussie boys have been dealt a rum deal, but I suppose you look at the overall situation in this country regarding jobs and foreigners.

I wasn't surprised either, I honestly thought Taylor would have pushed on in 2015 as he was making great progress before his injury, but we'll not find that out now. Hopefully he'll get through the state championships next winter and will be in a Tiger's race jacket in 2016.

That injury has cost him dearly, the State Championship would have been somewhere he could have got him back this season, hopefully he will be fit and raring to go and get that result in the State Championship and get himself back over here to ride for us.

Going to be very difficult filling his spot in the team, I would imagine that Andre Compton would be favourite.

Other possibilities are

Pepe Franc but problems with overseas commitments.

Tero Aarnio possible rides Sweden on Thursday.

Anders Thomsen looked good at Sheffield but question marks about the standard of his equipment,

Todd Kurtz, has connections with the Drillerman, but would he get a visa to ride.
