dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
The Guest Rider issue is a hot topic. To be fair the sport especially at Premier League level is probably here to stay, but I think it should be used as an exceptional rather than the rule. If one from the top 5 is out then Rider Replacement, anymore than one rider then you have to use a Guest, but only for the lower averaged riders. You have to have some form as Guest rider for the reserves, but I agree lets give young lads from the National League some experience for both reserve berths. I agree with the sentiment behind your post but when you look at the reality it can be penal to a team with stronger reserves but more balanced top end. Look at Ipswich last year having to use a NL reserve in place of Adam Ellis averaging 4.7 whilst Newcastle were able to use r/r for Lewis Rose averaging 4.1 which meant he could be replaced by the reserves just under 4 and the rider at 4 in the averages who in that case was averaging over 7! Similarly the Newcastle No6 could have a 'real' guest despite averaging a point less than Adam.

The Guest situation and the doubling up rule got to a ridiculous stage last season, the worse scenario was Redcar, who signed Richie Lawson on loan from Workington, thinking that they had the first choice on his services, then Workington sold him to Lakeside they then lost the first call on their number 1 rider. That cannot be right and when you look Lawson missed quite a few of Redcar's matches.
canalman
I think the most important signing for the Tigers is who they get to replace super joe as team manager, who do you think is in the frame for the job. Sorry just seen there is a Sheffield 2015 topic
