Tsunami
Any news from last night then? The BSPA statement published on Sunday night, is on the BSPA site. In addition George said - - Danny is probably out of consideration, as he is talking to Poland teams who ride on Sundays. - All other riders are in the frame. - Possibility of a Test match with the Aussies at Brough. - Some good news for Glasgow fans, but I will leave it to them to announce it. - No extra meetings added, home and away 24 fixtures if Peterborough do run. - Possibility of a combined Newcastle, Redcar, Workington NL team, with a possibility of a new NL team with Glasgow/Edinburgh joining together. - Eastbourne, with possibly Cradley and Birmingham in the NL, could put pressure on the number of suitable riders available for NL teams. - Diamonds have first round of KO Cup against Scunny with winners against Glasgow. - First fixtures :- - 28 Mar Berwick A TTT - 29 Mar Berwick H TTT - 4 Apr Worky A ITT - 5 Apr Worky H ITT Riders under two minutes at the gate will be excluded if they get off their bike. False starts will start the 2 minute clock in all cases, and up to the ref if he allows the pits gate to be opened. All to speed up the meeting. Apparently a very harmonious AGM this year.

Nothing to go on re signings for 2015. Good luck to Danny if he decides to ride in Poland instead of Sundays at Brough. If he goes, he will be remembered for missing the gate and making high speed blasts around the Brough Park boards to win his races. Great to watch. If the rest off the 2014 team are in the frame then we have some good riders to choose from but in my humble opinion we need an out and out number 1 rider, get me the Cookie monster
Chewbacca
I think he wants to ride in Poland too
diamond_ren
I'd take Mellgren up here as a 3rd heat leader... Granted he hasn't been outstanding around brough but once he got dialled in I think he'd be very hard to beat.
KEITH M
Riders under two minutes at the gate will be excluded if they get off their bike. So that's the real reason why Derek Sneddon retired :-)

dantodan
Yep Richard Lawson would be a great number 1 we need a number 1 rider capable of winning heats 13 and 15 home and away don't we Edited November 20, 2014 by dantodan
NJC71
We had an out and out number 1 last season and had a poor year in all competitions. We had no out and out number one in 2013 but had a high scoring reserve and a solid team and finished third in the league and won the League Cup. Likewise the previous year when we finished top of the table. Yes a strong number 1 would be good but a balanced side is more important. Personally I'm not a huge Lawson fan - great when he gates at Brough but normally tailed off when he doesn't.
diamond@heart
I see Danny King has signed for Ipswich, good luck to him for next year. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.27796
idanthyrsus
Riders under two minutes at the gate will be excluded if they get off their bike. Does that mean a rider getting onto a new bike because of mechanical problems with the original bike would be excluded?
Tsunami
Does that mean a rider getting onto a new bike because of mechanical problems with the original bike would be excluded? Not explained, and it would be unfair, but you can see the logic of why the rule was brought in by the SCB.
The White Knight
Not explained, and it would be unfair, but you can see the logic of why the rule was brought in by the SCB. I would guess that the Referee would only exclude somebody for getting off the Bike to do the 'gardening'. Changing a Bike if the one you are on has broke down is totally different. To exclude a Rider for that would be robbing the Public of a four Rider Race. The Rule seems to specifically and quite rightly, in my opinion, target 'gardening'. We must wait and see how the Referees apply the Rule.
