Newcastle 2015

is Simon not our senior reserve anyway, with an average of 3.82, leaving 5.73 for a replacement,,, don't like to be a 'stickler', but putting 'duff' information out there can't be good for the sport :(

has there not been an incident down at Redcar recently, with something to do with misreading averages ?,,,

Yes he is now, but it was Lewis all season before that, so hence my 'now' senior reserve.

Yes, but that was two old duffers who got it wrong. Wouldn't happen at Newcastle. :P:D

so, if we brought in a replacement for Rose, we could bring in a rider on a ?.?? ave...

I'd hate to think someone might, maybe use the 5.88 ave, then find it doesn't fit ;)

Sadly Lindgren isn't tearing up any trees this Season.......................

His average has gone up from the end of last season.

Ended on 7.12., currently 7.32. Only a slight improvement, granted, but an improvement none the less.

Yes - but I thought this would be a big year for him. I thought that the extra responsibility of being Team Captain might have spurred him on to greater things.

For once this isn't a dig at him - I am truly disappointed.

yeah,,, not many pulling up any trees, but bizarrely only Lighting and the Frying Pan have increased their starting averages :(

Stress of captaincy perhaps? Maybe give it to Christian again, was he any good at it?

haha, Dave (TS) reminds me of Yoda,,, never been in the bar, it probably resembles 'The Mos Eisley Cantina', lol,,,

The Muppet or the cgi version in the later films, cos one moved like the proverbial greased whatsit, while the other was a tad slower. Hang on, I think I see what you mean here.

Err...Steve Worrall?!

I don't think Ludvig should be singled out for criticism, he has improved his average while captaining a team who are struggling a bit and he also has the challenge of the #5 race jacket.

Henry has had a poor season, Lewis Kerr has had plenty of decent meetings but isn't really "tearing up any trees", neither is Rosen (injury certainly won't have helped) while Nielsen although mainly steady hasn't kicked on as might have been hoped and neither has Lewis Rose either (get well soon Lewis). Steve Worrall is the only rider who has ridden consistently well all season.

Predictable and incredibly boring that all that is ignored and as ever only Ludvig is singled out for criticism. Jees...... At least Ludvig provides some entertainment.

I'm sure all of the riders have given their absolute best but this team was always a gamble that was only going to come off if 3 or 4 really kicked on all at the same time. Unfortunately it rarely works that way and we are paying for not having more than one consistently high scoring top ender or at least a consistently high scoring reserve. Not the fault of the riders, just a gamble with the team that hasn't paid off.

If Lewis R is going to be out for a good while then it absolutely makes sense to try and bring someone in and get Henry down to reserve where he would surely be a high scorer...if he can start to make some consistent starts. Who is around on a 5.7 average is another matter. Even if we are allowed guests for Lewis there are very few decent options available and Nielsen isn't riding well enough/or is good enough to shoulder the burden. Very important that the season isn't allowed to just peter out. I myself have missed a number of meetings this season due to having other commitments but I have to admit that after a busy Sunday the desire to go to Brough is not great at the moment and just soldiering on with weak guests isn't really going to persuade me or others to make that extra effort to get there.

at number 5 he rides with or against reserves in 3 out of 4 races... They are all half decent riders individually, just very average as a collective.

yeah Paul,,, Steve has been a rock this season, his average is on the increase now and will only continue to rise, (IMO),,, obviously with his poor form and injury late on last season, his ave. this year was gonna go down before it went up,,,

it's not right to single out any rider, but it happens, annoyingly as their average/s are increasing,,, maybe not by much, but less than some that are going in the other direction ;)

The main things that have hurt us this season IMHO:

1. Lewis R was very out of sorts earlier in the season for whatever reason, of course he had the minor prospect of becoming a dad on the horizon. Sad for the lad to be struck down not long after rediscovering his form and banging some fine scores and entertaining races in.

2. Inconsistent season for Christian, bike troubles and whatnot, it's not for the lack of trying as we saw on Sunday's tactical ride crash.

3. Rosen, already missing track time from last season, did his collar-bone. He is at least a useful second string with potential to step up, and 6 weeks R/R takes its toll on the team. When riders you need to step up have a stinker like last Sunday then getting a result is going to be very hard.

As to the rest: Simon has done a job; Stevie sensational; Ludvig and Lewi K maybe have not quite kicked on as we had hoped but overall at least decent seasons. Based on this and #1-3 above, I wonder why some posters seem to have an anti-Ludvig agenda?

I did - but I don't now.

I really thought that when he was given the Captaincy he would kick on. I am genuinely disappointed that he hasn't because I believed he had potential. I honestly wanted to give him a chance this year.

Sorry if you disagree - that is your right........

Good post. You and I both agree the lad has potential to step up and hasn't done so yet. He has talent but seems to be in big bro's shadow...?

What's to be done? Sports Psychologist? Get Santa to give him Gating Gloves? I always used to tell Mrs S that Ludde was unstoppable round Brough Park if he led on the back straight, yet he got picked off in one of his races on Sunday after a mistake. I think we should perhaps not read too much into last Sunday though as it was a hugely disappointing performance, I will eat my Diamonds baseball cap if we have a meeting as bad as that again this year...
