foreverblue
I don't think Poole should look to much into the match at Brandon, there will be significant change in riders for Poole in the playoffs and the Coventry side will probably be different too. Remember we have had two good performances at Wimborne Road this season as well. We will see how they go tonight especially Hans and Harris who would probably rather ride against Kings Lynn than Swindon so may be in the mood to help them out. I don't think you can read too much in to a meeting that happened so long ago. Edited September 22, 2014 by foreverblue
mdmc82
Well it seems there is very little to choose between them, poole should have milik and pawlicki back so will need two guests, josh's absence isnt too bad as there seems to be some guests under his average who could do a job like king or kennett or cook or bridger but he will be missed. Has to be a PL rider so rules Bridger out King and Cook's average in EL is too high so rules them out too Can't see Poole wanting Swindon especially after we just thrashed Coventry at Brandon. But Kings Lynn and Poole have both had away wins at Poole whilst Swindon have been easily beaten both times. Depends if they consider that. Just got this feeling. I reckon the beatings you have given us this season will mean you pick us. On paper im not worried about anyone but in reality you lot are our bogey team who always find a way to beat us!!!

Agree Poole have performed well at Swindon in the past but we have been performing better recently. The only worry is at reserve.
Pirate Nick
Indianerna signed Paclic as a replacement for Iverson. Well that 1 league at least with a bit of common sense!
Anzum
The two semi finals have probably been already sorted. I haven't forgot last year waiting after the Swindon Lakeside match watching Birmingham v Kings Lynn on the tv through the window along with many others. Could KL get a 5-1 and we would be top and avoid Poole , excitement mounting. Then Rosco runs down the track to tell us it's Poole here next week. Got home to find Wolves had put their semi final on their website as soon as the Brum/ KL and Swindon/Lakeside matches had started.

Bridger cant but king and cook can both have lower averages that josh also kennett could who has ridden well at poole recently Edited September 22, 2014 by foreverblue
Nellie
King and Cook's average in EL is too high so rules them out too Grajczonek's EL average is 6.77 until October (when it looks like it will fall to 6.39). Cook and King's EL averages are 6.52 and 6.71 respectively.
customhouseregular
I would say whoever wins the league will pick Coventry, just a case of avoiding Swindon really. it is a shame it has become a case of who gets the best guest, we will miss Josh, he was terrific at Brandon last week. I am not so naive as to think speedway could survive without guests, but can anyone see the fans wearing Gerrard playing for ManU because Rooney was unwell?. Bagpuss
I just hope Kyle holds his form because he has been fantastic this season and improved beyond anyone at Poole wildest dreams, he has become a vital cog and irreplaceable. I have to admit to being proved completely wrong by Newman this year, I thought after knocking around the PL for several years and improving little and slowly he had reached his level but riding for Poole and moving to Plymouth seems to have done him the world of good and has seen him really step up a large notch. The challenge for the likes of him, Kerr, Blackbird, Worrall and Garrity is to become PL heat leaders next year and to start facing and beating EL heat leaders.
stevebrum
He didn't start at reserve but he was at reserve most of may but Worrall was at reserve alot longer so that would help his average comparatively. I just hope Kyle holds his form because he has been fantastic this season and improved beyond anyone at Poole wildest dreams, he has become a vital cog and irreplaceable. The only thing that is good is that BOTH British riders have improved their seasons. Newman hadn't progressed all that much as far as his PL average goes but just by watching him you can see he has progressed as a rider. Worrall did indeed spend a couple of months at reserve but has actually maintained his high level of scores which for me makes him the slightly better overall rider of the 2 this season. Am delighted for both tho. The two semi finals have probably been already sorted. Its all theory until the result of the Aces /Stars match is known. Nothing can be sorted until then. Why do people always feel the need to compare ourselves with football? No relevance at all.
customhouseregular
Why do people always feel the need to compare ourselves with football? No relevance at all. There is a relevance because it highlights a farcical situation. I have been a speedway fan for 54 Years and clubs have used guests in all that time. I know we need them but how do you sell speedway on that basis?. Just about everyone supports a football team so the analogy would resonate with the population at large. British speedway needs bigger crowds but a lot of people would not understand the guest rider situation As most of these same people are football fans I have used the football scenario to illustrate a point. When speedway tracks were pack solid they used guests ...No doubt football has big crowds because the offside law is so easy to explain

When the Speedway History Forum was active I was oldhammersfan, but for some reason I could not use that here. Why on earth do you think I'm a multi-poster?. You sure are working on some duff information.
