Brooksy
If things had gone according to plan at the beginning of this season, Somerset's current no.1 would be a bona fide Grand Prix rider in 2015! Congratulations to Mr Jason Doyle on his success in qualifying for next year's series. In my opinion, no-one deserves it more - a model Speedway professional and I have no doubt he will continue on an upward curve and give a good account of himself throughout the series. On the down side, I fancy it will scupper any plans to bring him back as our no.1 next year - he may have bigger fish to fry! But you never know - now that really would be a coup Mr May. Robinh88
Been outstanding all season - too good for the PL
Chewbacca
Only needed an injury free run. Once he got his shoulder properly fixed he has been excellent

Robinh88
I think he's got bigger fish to fry ekstraliga and elitserian plus I would imagine he will do a good job in the gps who knows he progresses again gets the sponsorship etc

Shadders
One of my favourite riders. Excellent guest for Rye House in the past, but I fail to see the Somerset connection. That's like Rye House claiming Tai Woffinden is world champion because he spent a couple of years with us.... screm
Great to see that a rider has gone through the PL and now made it to SGP, though as Arson Fire asks, how have Somerset reached new heights.
cyclone
Has steadily developed to now achieve an SGP 2015 slot. Leaving Somerset and concentrating on EL, Sweden, Denmark, & Poland have definitely accelerated his progress.

Starman2006
Agreed - in it's current guise. But who knows what League structure we'll have next year? I don't see how this is benifiting Somerset really, he's an Ex rider.. That said, he has ridden well all year. As as for Somerset re-signing him, I doubt it, but im very sure mr May has something up his sleave!! As for the league structure, you never know, you might have a local derby V Poole next season... Nonsense Nobody said he qualified because he rode for Somerset, now did they? That would be nonsense, as you say. The connection is that, if not for red tape, he would still be a Somerset rider AND a GP rider. Do you feel no pride that your former no.1 ( though a few years ago now mind) is the current World Champion? In my mind, as some one who has worn the Rebels race jacket with as much distinction as anyone in our relatively short history, Jason Doyle and Somerset Speedway will always be linked. The actual thread title was tongue in cheek by the way - not to be taken quite so literally. As a former Somerset rider has hit the same heights in the past Very true, but Doyley would have still been a Rebel but for the visa issue,... and probably PLRC Champ by now too! If he was still a Rebel his whole season could have panned out different, you just never know?Classic if your auntie had baws scenario!!!
