screm
Sure, it happens.....apparently Peter Waite was a genius for doing that... Wouldn't want to go back to Waite`s days, always look forward, however there is no doubt that Waite on occasion could pick a rider up from virtually nowhere and get the best out of that rider, before moving him on, also didn't suffer failing riders. Like I say no point in looking to by gone days other than to learn lessons from, we have a team to complete and a PL season to compete in. Fromafar
So once Allen gets a true average, and Berwick look to make a change, Allen would stay in the team leaving another rider to pay with his job because of the under scoring Allen.Maybe not the case if Allen doesn't come up to scratch,I would not take much heed of Australian results.UK is a different proposition to Open meetings in Australia. As Allen has no racing history over here, his Australian scores are all anyone can go on, though I agree there is a world of difference from Aussie state titles to what he will face racing over here, if he is signed of course. emilali
Personally I would bin Allen off and go with Vissing. I think next season is a very important one for Berwick, if you believe what John and his associates tell us ( which I know most do) then crowds really need to pick up or there may not be a Berwick 2016. For this reason I think Allen is just far to big a risk to take on a 7pt ave, because if he struggles, which I think its highly likely he would and thats no disrespect to to the lad but most of them do when they come over initially, and Berwick start getting a few pastings, particularly at home, I think the crowds would really slump. Vissing on a 7.09 would be far better and offer backup particularly at home and cover the poor signing of TJ. If the rumoured combination of Edberg and Nathan Greavss at reserve comes to fruition, then I would like to congratulate the weakest reserve pairing in recent memory. screm
So much positivity. Absolutely, it what we specialise in on a Berwick thread. According to this weeks Speedway Star, Benji Compton is looking for a team place, surely a rider who rode for EL Champions Poole should come in for consideration. Peter did have an real knack for picking up unexpected riders and turning them around. This current season saw similar cases with Jensen and Kus. Looking forward, I wonder what will be "pulled out of the bag" for this coming season? I think someone mentioned Pepe earlier on, and I agree with you, we need to progress, not regress.
