YAMYAMBANDIT
He certainly does long track and grass track so unless he was giving it up it is a waste of time +too old IMO lets sign riders for the future. For me, I would like to see three new riders in our team, non on loan transfer. On a 6 point average I'd take Theo Pijper in the middle order alongside Kus or Vissing that could be a powerful pairing. Id like to see us bring in a Number One though. But value for money signings like Theo and maybe Jason Bunyan would certainly assure my season ticket for 2015 The club have tried the No1 route for 5 year got us nowhere, the team in depth route, we ended up 4th, the best season since 2005 when we came 2nd, with a team in depth. Rather watch somebody trying than somebody filling in their time sheet every week three new riders, busting a gut, I am with you

YAMYAMBANDIT
bar 2008 we haven't had a number one They may not have ended up being up to No1, Gharlie Gjedde, Edward Kennet. If you are talking a 10 pointer, how weak would the rest of the team be. Edited September 26, 2014 by TOURETTES

If you are talking a 10 pointer, how weak would the rest of the team be. Add the names of William Lawson and Ricky Ashworth. Totally agree with Tourettes, if we are going to demand a big-name No 1 instead of a 2014-style strength-in-depth squad, we deserve to be called fannies. Don't disagree with a No1 scenario, but you really have to get it right, a No1 with the best two reserves in the PL, backed up by a 2nd string who will rotate between them, then three riders who will increase on their starting average by at least a point each. So for that reason I prefer a team in depth.
Robinh88
One Number One and that was Rymel 2008. Ashworth had his best season but still not a Number One Gjedde was only 8.08 Maybe we haven't been getting the best out of all 7 riders? CaptainAudi
If your wanting a big #1, then you need to fill the rest of your team with riders who can improve their averages, as Edinburgh did this season. We got lucky with Worrall and Sedgmen the main examples.

On that basis, there are only seven riders in the PL above a 9 point ave. Cook 10.53. Stead 9.70. Barker 9.48. King 9.38. Lawson 9.31. Crajczonek 9.04. Bjerre 9.02 Only 3 of those teams with one of those riders in are in the play offs. Edinburgh, their trump was Worrall. Peterborough and Workington

screm
At last a voice of reason I know we need a steady nucleus to the team but come on the fans are tired of seeing the same old warhorses ploughing their furrow let see if there are a couple of youngsters who are prepared to burst a gut. Might put some extra bums on seats. I agree, our asset base isn't exactly brimming at the minute, so a few brand new assets would go a miss, though it must be said the "old warhorses" didn't do so bad this season did they. One Number One and that was Rymel 2008. Ashworth had his best season but still not a Number One Gjedde was only 8.08 Maybe we haven't been getting the best out of all 7 riders? Gjedde was only 8-08 for a reason. Better get your wallet out then Col, you will sponsor him of course. Agree, but we will need a fun fair outside Shielfield every week.
