diamond_ren
What about him who rode at Somerset last season was it Pontus Aspegren? Didn't he end on a 7ish average... Was a bit surprised no-one signed him at the start of the season

Robinh88
Yeah they came and gave us a right doing here, after putting Swindon out in the QF Morton, Shields and Bird in their element I'll have to ask B4e about that, I can't remember that far back. Last year was a disappointment after a really good start and middle. Ran out of steam when it matteredSomeone has obviously hacked Crescent Girls account!! topsoil
Not so much ran out of steam, more came up against Edinburgh who were a far better team and a place where we never go well at. Last season was almost a perfect storm for Berwick, a largely over-achieving team.
Ned Kelly 41
Yes they are but so is Richard Hall so I dont see why it should effect their chances of getting a team place, when Richard signed for us he said that Berwick had helped him work out his own fixture list and had helped him so that he missed as little amout of meetings as possible, Pepe and Matt are absolute track specialists around Berwick who have experience on every prem track as well There's a difference in that Richard will be representing ACU in long-track, and Bandits will get some sort of facility if there's a clash. Franc and Tressarieu don't get the same benefits, and in their case there will also be a considerable number of other European speedway events to which they're commited. Hall only does the big World long track and grass track championships.
crescent girl
Another rider I imagine will have been approached is Linus Eklof. Don't believe he has ridden over here for some time. Nikolai Klindt as well although I believe he is injured just now. Linus has (again) been approached by a number of clubs this season and last, almost certainly including Berwick. However, to date he has not shown any inclination to ride in Britain again. Klindt is definately out injured, was involved in a big pile-up in Denmark a couple of weeks ago involving Leon Madsen and (surprise!) Nicki Pedersen.

crescent girl
I agree, we've had some good stuff on here in the last couple of days, people recognising that a club which must be haemorrhaging thousands of pounds cannot just go out and buy a spare superstar, and needs their supporters to support. Constructive, not destructive, criticism must always be welcome -- there are those who cannot recognise this fact. Perhaps their relative absence in these couple of days has contributed to the sense and sensibilty which has taken over -- perhaps, at last, people are realising the severity of the situation.

I can only agree with this, it is quite relieving knowing that Berwick fans can actually post comments which are constructive occasionally
screm
Best of luck to Garcia at Berwick, its a big gamble to bring in a brand new rider at this time but if other riders couldn't or wouldn't come there the club were left with very little option than to look a someone new, though its fair to say most of us thought it would be someone with a least a track record in European racing at least. So we have a replacement for Stichaur, hopefully now the club will look to get back to a seven man team asap, be it Barker and Vissing returning or new riders.

allthegearbutnaeidea
Don worry Coty Garcia will meet expectations.-I'm not sure how you could possibly say that, as far as I'm aware he hasn't rode the Berwick track and has not rode European speedway before and is suddenly being thrown in at the deep end, I wish him well though
mythman666
I'm not sure what my expectations are of Garcia...but if he is on pace and can pick up 4 points a meeting then it's job done. Fair play to the promotion for giving the lad a chance and I hope we can keep our decent form going.

I'm not sure what to expect either, but he certainly has come to give it a go and looks to have had some decent results. Can't believe how unlucky we've been with injuries this season
neil
Happy with this signing, good to see a new face in the team and not knowing what to expect. Will be a learning curve to begin with but if he is capable of beating jamrog & covatti then he looks a talent at 20 years old.

topsoil
As long as he's given time to settle in. Long way from home, never seen Berwick track before, let alone ride on it. Hopefully he will get in as much after match practice as possible. Fans will probably need to show some patience, something some Berwick fans are not noted for. I like the fact that he has moved lock, stock to Berwick. Hopefully he will be able to get in contact with some local businesses for sponsorship. Always helps when you are in and around the area I think. And if he shows potential he could even be an asset for (hopefully) next season.
