crescent girl
From club website: There will now be FOUR of our Dixon Building Bandits -- more riders than any other club will provide! -- racing in Theo Pijper's 'Night of Champions' at Armadale Raceway next Friday, March 20th. Ben Barker has volunteered his services to the popular Dutchman, joining Claus Vissing, Kevin Doolan and Thomas Jorgensen in honouring Theo's contribution to our sport. The meeting -- and the northern season -- begins at 7.30pm. In addition, Thomas Jorgensen will now join Ben Barker at Sheffield on Sunday 22nd for Ricky Ashworth's Big Day, which begins at 5pm that day.

Robinh88
Not long till the Mighty B's take to the track, been looking forward to it for months. Took in KS (Unibax) Torun vs Fogo Leszno today, what a great advert for Speedway so early in the campaign. I sense this could be our year, come on the lads! customhouseregular
I wish I lived in Berwick! Perfect size track and fast...63ish seconds for 4 368m. laps. Good facilities and only £11.00 for OAP's. Reminds me a fair bit of Custom House...as I recall c. 415 YARDS ( did not have metres back then) and track record around 69 secs.. similar facilities too. OK, Plymouth fans might disagree about perfect track size, but not all speedway fans think alike. I wish I lived in Berwick! Perfect size track and fast...63ish seconds for 4 368m. laps. Good facilities and only £11.00 for OAP's. Fast doesn't always equal good racing. Perfect size, but not the perfect shape. Racing can be rather strung out with 20-30 yards between the riders at times. Edited March 17, 2015 by Shads
customhouseregular
Agreed Shads...not every race at Custom House was a classic, but when you got 4 riders really having a go it was magic. As you say , fast is not necessarily better (check out some of the times from 40 years ago) and I have seen some great races won in (relatively) slowish times. But...4 riders really turning it on at a big fast track takes some beating. It's a purely personal thing, but the prospect of 50-second races at Plymouth would not entice me. I always loved Wimbledon though. Get yourself out to the Showground at Peterborough customhouseregular!! I'd love to get myself anywhere Mr. S. but speedway for me is out of the question for many reasons.
