screm
Take Allen on a 7 get a new asset and in 2 years hopefully as good as Fricke I am sure that would be the hope, but the likes of Fricke doesn't come along to often.
CaptainAudi
Mr Fricke is a bit special looking at Allens results he's ok I can't see him ever being a Max Fricke though. Max struggled for the start of 2013 and found himself at reserve on a 3 point something average which he made a mockery of and it gave him confidence to start his improvement. I see the same happening to Allen, and hopefully you stick with him, he looks a decent prospect.

Edinburgh can afford to have a struggling rider as they did with Aaron Fox last season as they always have such a strong team built around them Berwick won't have that luxury imo. Mr Blobby
No, he did it four weeks ago. Check your results for the Queensland State Title meeting? An apology will do, naturally. Apologies, but still he has had more bad meetings than good meeting looking at his results.
Robinh88
It doesn't matter who he has beaten. It matters what he does over here, how quickly he adapts, what kit is he using Will he invest like Nick Morris or ride a bag of nails as Kevin Doolan was doing? I'm all for new assets if Allen is a 5 great if not now is not the the time to blood him... Edinburgh Glasgow Redcar id imagine will be the more or less the first couple of home meetings Experiment vs Glasgow and we wont score 40... Get as much value out of every point that we have left to play with If it isn't working blood Allen then
rgcumming
On either a 5 or a 7, Allen should line up as a Bandit come the start of the season. This is a man who is travelling across the world to join us and we should respect and support him regardless of his average. It is crucial we improve our asset base and this is a positive move. We are building our team differently this coming season by all accounts but the negativity is tangible, and I can't see why. We have secured one of the best riders in the league in Ben Barker. I'm sure the promotion will pull together a decent side in the end, they normally do! Dan Halsey on a 3.00 should be nailed on. Have I missed something on Matty Wethers? No mention of him in any lineups.
Fromafar
what is the point of loaning out our assets though, apart from a few quid loan fee, what percentage of assets come back to their original club?
Robinh88
what happens if he is mince? Start losing meetings? doesn't matter whether we've got a team of nice lads... a percentage of people just wont bother returning

This promotion has put together one good team since they took over from PW yes we have had our fair share of injuries and that since then but to say they normally put together a decent team is stretching it a bit We've signed Ben Barker yes but it's the riders you put around him that make the difference in the season his average won't change massively but you need to sign riders down the order that can up there's and make you competitive I can understand the negativity we have signed 2 riders to back him up one in TJ that I can't see making his average and one in Allen that will take time to bed in to this league and when you look at some of the other teams out there and what riders are left we will be toiling imo. bigeddiechek
A lot of speculation going on here, but that is part of making the close-season a bit more bearable I suppose! We only have 3 riders announced, one of the Ben Barker, Jorgenson should be solid enough, and potentially an exciting new youngster. We've still got 4 places to fill, so we have no idea what shape the team will take at the moment. I think potentially Barker can keep bums on seats if - as a few have suggested on here - we take the early part of the season to "adjust" the team Anyone know if Jan Jaros is still on the go?

Fromafar
If Allen's average is 7,that means we have signed 3riders for a total of 23pts that leaves 19.5pts for the next 4riders that doesn't give leeway if you want 2 decent reserves IMO if you sign another Heat Leader over 7 we could be struggling to find 3 riders under 12.5 pts. havenagotahope
Let settle with Barker, Jorgensen, Vissing, Doolan, Thomsen, Edgerg and Halsey. Top five should be a match for most

Alan_Jones
Something in the back of my mind, about the visa stipulations. Does an assessed rider on a 7 average from without the EU, have to maintain the 7 average to be granted a visa for the following season. This was certainly the case until at least 2009 and the rules for that year are still on the BSPA site. As an alternative, a rider needed to satisfy the state championship or professional league average criteria. I think adherence to this rule has 'drifted' in recent years along with ignoring the correct assessed averages. It's no wonder that V&I/UKBA are starting to get heavy. It's also interesting, after the way last season's problems were dealt with, that the BSPA is one of only 4 of the 60 listed governing bodies that are only allowed to endorse applicants for Tier 2 visas and not Tier 5 as all the others are.
