Berwick 2015

Recommended Posts

Your club has confessed to being short of investment, yet people on here are happily talking of signing expensive riders.

It is a pity when (not just at Berwick) supporters groups and sponsors seem to think it is more important to shovel money towards riders instead of assisting their favoured club to survive.

Barrett certainly seemed to back to something like his best when with Peterborough last season. Certainly a much better rider than his average suggests. Good luck to him

I agree. I don’t think he will ever be a superstar, but he is a rider who is capable of putting a point or a point and a half on his average. Workington are looking quite strong.

Any signings yet, or is John Andersen still counting the contents of his penny jar?

Unlike other clubs, I think the attitude at Berwick is not to spend money you don't have.

Which makes the above post pretty straightforward.

So it should be, sign crap riders even less folk will return

A decent rider can be signed...it may mean lowering the budget elsewhere in the team

Don't think its just me but I seriously worry for this coming season then.. .. A poor one to follow the year we've just had will finish us I believe. No news at all from the club won't help season ticket sales either. . An email to let us know up to date info on the current situation may keep confidence up!

I do find it a little strange PR to try and sell season tickets on no information, not even the admission price for next season.

To much travelling?

How many seasons has Barker been a rumour for Bandits, his best years are probably behind him, hasn't improve in the last couple of seasons.

Suspect we may be heading back to the PW years where we hang on till the end of Jan/Feb and see who will bite for a few quid unfortunately the fans won't accept this anymore if that is how it is to be call it quits and shut the doors. If we ain't competitive after last season the numbers in the stand will be pretty sparse.

If Barker is back with the Bees next season , it would be a fairly easy trip north on a Saturday morning after Brandon on a Friday night

It would be a real shame if we didn't build on last season and not just see it as a one off, the promotion whether by luck or judgement put together a decent team and were congratulated for it.

At the present time there are quite a few teams who havent announced riders so not overly worried about team. However it is bit daft trying to sell season tickets etc without knowing who you are going to watch. I dont actually buy one anyway but if i did it would be like going to a shop and paying out for a blank box without knowing the contents. Hopefully riders will be announced sooner rather than later.

Very true In football when a club is trying to get fans to renew or buy season tickets they usually announce at least on marquee signing in order to capture the fans imagination and get a bit of a buzz about the place , cant see many people renewing ATM until they see at least one rider being announced
