Great way to start the season, just hope it's a strong gb side..... And before the one who has described me as a rotten apple responds, I have bought my season tickets ( at least sent the money) albeit I do not see them as value for money. Totally agree. - the days of fans attending 2/3 meetings on one day as I recall I and many others did in the 70s and 80s regularly are long gone as it's too expensive. Those that only wanted to go to Peterborough still will, those that only wanted to go to Lynn still will. Those that wanted to do both still can. But going to two on the same day is a very expensive day out, especially if you're taking the kids. Going to one, one week, then another the following week when you've received another pay cheque is easier to manage. Your other point doesn't make much sense either. If you can only afford to do one meeting on the day, then you're going to choose one or the other. There are I'm sure, Peterborough supporters who were planning to go to Rory's big day, who'll now not go and watch their team instead. There'll be others who planned to watch Rory's testimonial, who still will and give the showground a miss. It wasn't a case of "Those that only wanted to go to Peterborough still will, those that only wanted to go to Lynn still will. Well if you think it makes sense for two clubs so geographically close to race on the same day that's your prerogative but you will never convince me! Oh and it will definitely be cheaper for me overall as I shall now only attend the Eoes meeting so that's less admission plus less travel costs whereas 2 separate Sundays for instance I would have been prepared to go to both. I have friends incidentally who are Lynn fans who tell me they feel the same ie: would have had a trip to Eoes to see us V GB on a Sunday when no Saddlebow fixture was occurring but are not prepared to do so now. I wouldn't have been going to Lynn regardless of the date or time so I'm pleased I will now be seeing some speedway that Sunday and looking forward to seeing the Panthers opening fixture. I am surprised there are so many Sundays given there home night was quoted as Fridays, but I have to say I am pleased about it because it's a lot easier for me to get up the M11 on a Sunday than a Friday evening. Certainly a lot of reserved dates in there too and they are in favour of Fridays by 8 to 4, so the end of season total of race days might be about equal. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
