Peterborough Panthers 2015

Recommended Posts

very similar to chatting at a Poole sponsors evening I would imagine....

He spoke publicly too at that function!! Although not to any pre-prepared script!!:wink:

Anyway, people will believe what they want to believe based on what they've been told.

Apologies to Panthers fans for taking up space on your thread. It seems at least both Poole and Peterborough have decent business-minded sponsors (and owners)! :D

Skidder, the ultimate Pirate. Only problem is that he seems to be wearing patches over both eyes. :D

Don't forget the deafness & dumbness. Skidder reckons that the Hanging Gardens of Babylon are in Poole and that herds of wildebeest sweep majestically along Wimborne Road?

I would imagine it's all about TV exposure for the name, and Poole tend to get great exposure on Sky. Whatever the true reason Frost is doing it, i doubt if it will be shared with the fans...

erm, why do ReadyPower want or need tv exposure?

They're not in the business of selling stuff to the tv-watching public, are they?

Don't machinery/plant users or engineering equipment people watch TV then??

of course they do! But the decision-makers in that field are not really going to be influenced much by seeing ReadyPower emblazoned everywhere at televised speedway meetings.

Say a firm needs a couple of JCBs, or Network Rail have tenders going out relating to some major engineering works - are the decision makers really going to think "oh I know, what about that firm I saw on the telly when I was watching a speedway meeting last week. Let's use them." ?!!!

Sponsoring Speedway is a good way of ReadyPower using their advirtising budget as well as providing good tax benefits.

In comparison if they were to have say a 2.5min tv advert you would look at around £2500 to film and produce budget style upto around £7-10k for HD quality pro version.

Then if you said around £5-6000 a time for a slot during Sky Speedway coverage you can see you won't get much for your money on tv adverts.

Also ReadyPower biggest customers are the rail infrastructure companies there is some big projects to be done in the next few years with High Speed2,Midland mainline electrification and West Country so they may be looking at a new South West depot too

They'll be owning their own EL track before you know it? Oh hang on, that'll not work, I remember Tsunami saying ". I have a lot of respect for Rick but speedway was just not for him."

And as I said on the Poole thread: "I can see your/the logic, but as a Panthers fan who has seen an golden opportunity for our club wasted, I'm sure that you can appreciate that it's the act and not the technicalities that will stick in the throat and live in the memory for many." - that'll go straight over the head of our northern where there's life there's hope business expert :D

Which is still very true. :P

BTW Most of what you say goes over many heads as not being very relevant. But keep trying. :P

As for Bratters, he's at the ABAX alternate Saturdays and doing Mrs Bratley's shopping in Sainsburys most Sundays. Rick chose Oakes for some reason didn't he. Bratters could survive in the world of shark infested custard and could still be tempted if the right offer came along but I don't think that he wants to spend too much time on the road these days; and with Peterborough being a roaring success since he left it looks like the offer to join them again will not be forthcoming, so get out it is I assume!

crikey the great man appears to have hacked into your account also.... :D
