wealdstone
The overall construction of an EL team would be cheapish, FTR are cheaper than the reserves of the last elite campaign also if you dont include gp stars the costs are not that much more than a premier team I hope you are right and that is what happens!! Crump99
Have you seen the state of the EL this season? Unfortunately that is a valid point.

em1500uk
I'm holding on to my optimism that the Panthers will come to the tapes again next year I thought Rathbone and Swales wouldn't let the club fold without attempting to do something to try and save it. Here's hoping that it all comes to something. I'm actually looking forward to this fans' forum. Could be interesting. Whatever the date, I will try and be present as I'd like to hear what has to be said and it seems that anyone who's interested in the club staying open for 2015 are encouraged to make an appearance anyway... With regards to Panthers needing to be "at the top"...er...what top? The Elite League is certainly not what it was. Most of the "big names" have gone and probably won't come back anytime soon. Well AJ might go back to Lakeside so it appears but we all know that Woffinden has expressed that he'd like one race night a week (Monday) and I can't see that working as not every club is as fortunate as King's Lynn where they own the stadium and can do as they like with it. Generally speaking, most speedway is at a track where they share it with other events and the promotion rents it off of the stadium owner i.e stockcar/greyhound businesses and such like. In those situations, speedway just goes on whatever evening is free. I wouldn't mind a set race night, but I doubt it'd work, for the reasons I've mentioned. Anyway, will there even be an EL next season? The league structure could change and who knows where speedway's concerned. Nothing seems set in stone for the long term. Things seem to be looked at in a short term way. There doesn't seem to be any real consistency. Basically, if the Panthers stay in the PL, I'll be happy.

Good luck Trevor Swales, his heart is with the club, now all the fans need to come back out of the woodwork!!!!!!!!! Sorry Trees, I've got to disagree, even though we both support the same club. I used to be bored watching Elite League racing at Peterborough, but the racing at that circuit this season has gone to a far higher level, albeit not quite so fast, and the Premier League would be poorer if they were move out of that level of combat again. Anyway, get you thermals out ready for Wednesday, as we chase TWO pieces of silverware.

Jeez, and we've got the resident looney posting a team a day and it's only October. Edited October 20, 2014 by Crump99
em1500uk
I can't believe that teams are being mentioned when it's still not been confirmed that the club will run next year...but I suppose we all need something to talk about! Well it's slightly better than picking next year's team in September, leaving out riders who are still riding for the team. That's not aimed at you btw but is just on my bugbear list at no
TAST
1- King 2- Roynon 3- Ostergaard 4- Blackbird 5- Fisher 6- Covatti 7- Ellis That's about 44.69 based on the BSPA issue 34 averages - unless my super duper new spreadsheet is way out. stevehone
i always enjoy the racing at the showground but this season there really was some great races on a much more consistent level than we saw in the EL .. when the track is prepared properly (more lines than just on the fence) it really does have the most exciting racing around. i also liked the Sunday afternoon meetings
wealdstone
I agree we have seen some good racing. I am also fully aware of the financial arguments. However if you supported Man U, Liverpool , Spurs or Arsenal would you be wishing for Championship Football because the football is better? Panthers lost at least 25% of their support due to Premier League demotion. The sooner a return to the top flight the better IMO. What the top flight is going to be of course is speculative. I didn't get any of that and after the consistently exciting end to 2013 I can't recall too many races that were great in 2014, although naturally there were some, but apart from a couple by the ostrich, don't expect me to list them. Also the track in 2013 was well prepared, especially towards the latter half of the season with plenty of lines providing exciting racing. I'd also prefer not to have my Sunday broken by speedway unless it's early evening. That's the alternative view. I hope that we end up with some sort of Prem Plus substitute for the EL which might cater to all? Can't see it though with Sky showing Elite League speedway.
