Peterborough Panthers 2015

A poor pole in for a young Brit (albeit struggling). But you chose to go heavy up top so cant expect it all at reserve as well!!

However Greenwood last night looked as good as I have ever seen Konopka ride.

This is whats killing British speedway.

It was Greenwood's choice to move on, he needs to find a NL ride

It was his choice to move on.. but he is going to another PL team not NL so not sure what is going to change for him. I certainly would have preferred him to stay over Konopka. Edited by Noodles

Joke. There's plenty of English riders who are just as good if not better than Konopka. Perry, Carr, Crang, Williamson, Shanes, Halsey, Hughes and Payne to name some.

It's really time to start putting assessed overseas riders back onto their assessed averages for team building until they can surpass them.

It is obvious you have not seen some of those named at the EoEs this season - yes an English rider would be the preferred option but many NL riders are just not up to standard yet - well not at the Eoes anyway - whether Konopka is remains to be seen but most Polish riders enjoy the track.

Somerset?

I would expect Konopka to score better on new machinery

Who's paying for that then? Has he won the Euro Lottery because we're told as a club we're not in the position to help either? Hope it doesn't go bang first meeting.

“Rafal had said recently on Facebook that both his bikes needed attention and he didn’t have the money to fix them.

“At this level you need to have two good standard bikes, it’s as simple as that. I know some of the supporters have helped him but unfortunately the club isn’t in a position, financially, to help him (gazettelive.co)

Peterboro are 'helping' him with machinery.

Maybe Ged is helping him out!

The Promotion under Frost always had a spare bike that Ales used to ride, maybe they are using that!

Agreed or substantial lowering of averages for Brits. Also ditch the under 25's doubling up rule and make it 2/3 years then choose like they have started with the Pl/EL.

As for the listed riders how much would I like to see Shanes round the EOES

Cheek! The guy buys and sells Polish bikes all the time....

Pity they can't "help" out a young British rider :mad::mad:

As a matter of interest does anyone know if promotions still have to pay board & lodgings/rent for foreigners? That along with air fares/mileage must make foreigners more expensive.

Must be cheaper to use a Brit or do they price themselves out of the market?

Its a business not a charity ;)

Ged does more than enough at grass roots level assisting riders... so don't preach about something of which you know nothing! :)

Wasn't aware I was preaching merely voicing my opinion and asking questions.

My comments are not aimed specifically at Peterboro but at ALL clubs, in both leagues.

Too many of them seem to bring in foreigners to replace young Brits and IMHO that is counter productive. I don't see countries that are more successful that Britain employing very low average Brits and giving them the opportunity to progress in their countries and to me it's all wrong that British clubs employ mediocre (at best) foreigners and give them the experience to progress and then as a collective (BSPA) bemoan the fact that Britain doesn't win anything.

It was the look of anger in your eyes that prompted my response ... :D

and the fact that it appeared to be aimed soley at our promotion ;)

I agree with what you say above!! :t::blush:

Unlike our friend, you're not unfortunately in full possession of the facts whereas he's always full of it :P

If a rider comes in on an assesed average they should keep that average until they have acheived it. eg Pavalora started on a 7 but started this season on a 3. No doubt Konopka was the same!?
