Peterborough Panthers bosses have come up with a Posh offer . . . in a bid to attract football fans to speedway.

Readypower Panthers chiefs are offering discounted admission to their Premier League clash against Workington at the East of England Showground on Sunday (May 10, 6.30pm start).

The deal is open to Posh season-ticket holders from the 2014-15 season who can gain entry at Alwalton for just £10 upon production of the relevant documentation at the turnstiles.

Panthers promoter Ged Rathbone said: “We are working hard to build up our fan-base and attract new faces to the Showground.

“There are many people in and around the city who have never sampled live speedway.

“I’m confident that if we can get them along to the Showground we can get them hooked.

“Posh’s season came to an end last weekend and I’m sure there will be plenty of supporters looking for a sporting fix. Hopefully they will take advantage of this offer.”

Panthers have enjoyed a sparkling start to their Premier League campaign with a hat-trick of wins.

SCB amendment to the regulations in early May, apparently it's to allow riders 2013 scores to be added to the rolling averages for those riders who didn't ride in the PL/EL in 2014.

yes I have discovered that already! Have you been asleep for 5 days? wink

Farcical , inconsistent and laughable!

If you read the new supplementary reg it is possibly the most poorly drafted almost incoherent piece of writing ever!

Greenwood gets the green light

Panthers bosses are standing by young reserve Ollie Greenwood as he battles to find his form.

The reigning British Under 19 champion has struggled in the early weeks of the 2015 season.

He drew a blank in the 52-40 victory at Plymouth last Friday after suffering a heavy crash in his opening ride, but he retains the backing of promoter Ged Rathbone.

The club supremo said: “I’m keen to develop young British talent and I’m very hopeful we can get Ollie going well again. He is trying everything he can and I feel sure he is only a couple of good rides away from getting his season going.

“We are offering advice and support to him as a club and we will continue to do that for the foreseeable future.”

Panthers have sent fit-again Adam Roynon on a short-term switch to Premier League rivals Redcar.

The 26 year-old suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung when involved in a horror smash on the opening lap of the new season back in March.

He will now gain valuable track-time with the North-East club and scored paid nine when making his Bears debut on Tuesday.

But Rathbone insists Roynon remains part of Panthers’ plans going forward.

He said: “Adam needs to race and Redcar were in urgent need of a rider, so this move should suited both parties. Adam fully understands the situation we are in at Peterborough where we don’t feel we can currently make changes to a winning team with Michael Palm Toft having come in and done very well.

“But I must stress we are monitoring Adam’s progress closely at Redcar with a view to bringing him into the team at a later date.”

Garrity rides for Coventry on Friday's so would miss too many matches. I thought he'd also already signed for a Premier League team but with my memory no chance of me remembering which one.......if he actually has.

Edit......Just checked and it's Sheffield so I see what you mean about Belligo, but that still leaves the problem of missing matches because of Coventry.
