Garrity in at Sheffield for Bellego:

SHEFFIELD Tigers have moved quickly to agree terms with Jason Garrity to ease their injury crisis.

Club bosses were keen to plug one of the gaps left by injuries to Simon Stead and David Bellego at the weekend.

Garrity is hoping to make his debut on Thursday against Somerset at Owlerton – subject to the new line-up gaining the necessary approval from the sport’s management committee.

The Manchester-born youngster, 21, scored a stunning 12-point maximum for his Elite League side Coventry in their win at Belle Vue last night.

And Tigers co-promoter Damien Bates said: “The reason why we have moved so quickly is because it would be unfair on the team, and everyone else at the club, to carry the pressure of a guest and rider replacement.

“When I called Jason it took two minutes to agree everything, he’s jumped at the chance to ride for us and I think he will be a real crowd pleaser.

“I’m not putting any pressure on him, I’m just telling him to go out there and give it his best for us and score as many points as he can.”

Garrity comes in as cover for Bellego who has a hip injury and they have booked Craig Cook to cover for Stead against Somerset.

I'd be interested to know why Rob Lambert is missing all three meetings this weekend when it should only be one looking at Kings Lynn fixtures?

Think it must be this weekend when the Stars are racing in some international challenge fixture - Poland or similar.

Well that's made Fridays meeting a million times less inspiring.

Really poor planning by Peterborough to have Lambert missing for so many meetings.

Kings Lynn only stepped in at the last minute when Matt Fraud threw his prams out of his pram - due to joint owned Poole assets getting priority to ride for their Polish couterparts over riding in this event for Poole...!

Must have been a huge Readypower pram with internal prams included.

It's the Champions League thingy this weekend I believe, thought that was Saturday though.

Was looking for an excuse to watch Ev v Manure & The Arse v Chelsea double, it's not made that difficult these days
