mudflaps
Olly Allen will be managing Lambert next season I believe Thought Olly Allen would be our nailed on number 1 for next season! http://www.peterboroughpanthers.co/homepage BARKER BIDDING FOR GLORY Wednesday August 19, 2015 STAR signing Ben Barker wants to become a Premier League champion for the first time with Peterborough. The fit-again Cornish flyer makes his Readypower Panthers debut against Newcastle at the East of England Showground on Friday night (7.30pm) after being snapped up yesterday. And Barker is convinced he can the team better on and off the track in the remaining weeks a season he hopes will end with a silver lining. He said: "I've not won anything in the Premier League in the past and hopefully this is the year that can change. "I've not just come here for a few meetings. I'm here to get to the play-offs and go for the title. "I know Peterborough have had a lot of injuries this year, but they've clearly got a good team. "I just want to add to that and hopefully I can get started by winning heat four on Friday night and going from there. "I've guested a couple of times and the spirit in the pits is great. I'm a good team man and hopefully I can boost it even further. "I'll do everything I can to score points myself and help the other guys." Barker has made a faster-than-expected recovery to return to action this season. He had initially been told to expected to sit out the rest of the 2015 campaign after suffering several broken vertebrae in a horror British Final crash back in June. But, two months on, he has declared himself fit for battle and he is determined to start boosting an average which has fallen to 7.55. Barker added: "I was initially told I wouldn't be back until next year after my crash, but my recovery has gone really well. "I've had some fantastic treatment and been lucky enough to have some great family around me. "It's only in the last couple of weeks I realised I could get back this season and I'm delighted to be a Peterborough rider. "It was an easy decision to make when I knew they were interested." dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Such a shame - Lewis has progressed quickly after a late start. Has had an awful run of injuries and bad luck though. All the best for the future Lewis.
scoobydoo
Could they fit Ales Dryml in for rest of season for Blackbird Think this season is now a write off Lewis Blackbird has retired with immediate effect. Leigh Lanham to replace? Wanted Panthers to sign him but that was years back when he was a 16yr old having rides at the showground but for some reason he chose Ipswich !! Mark Plummer 14:19Thursday 20 August 2015 Peterborough Panthers have been rocked by a retirement bombshell from one of their riders today (August 20). Lewis Blackbird has notified club bosses of his decision to end his career with immediate effect. Promoter Ged Rathbone revealed Blackbird (28) has previously told him the current season would be his last in the sport, but he has now opted to hang up his kevlars early following an injury interrupted campaign. Supremo Rathbone said: “Lewis has informed us of his decision to retire from the sport. “He had always insisted this would be his final year to his business commitments outside of speedway, but it is obviously very disappointing to lose him at such an important stage of the season. “The season hasn’t gone the way he had hoped. His fitness and form were affected by a crash back in May and it took him a long time to get himself right again. “He was involved in another crash riding for his Elite League club, Wolverhampton, on Monday and I think that has proved to be the final straw. “He has been a very popular rider with our supporters during the past two seasons. We thank him for his contributions during that time and wish him well for the future. “We are already working on bringing in a new rider and hopefully we will be in a position to do that early next week.” Panthers will operate the rider replacement facility to cover for Blackbird against Newcastle, but talks are already understood to be underway with a potential new recruit. Panthers have six meetings remaining in the regular Premier League season and look almost certain to secure a spot in the play-offs. It has been a hectic week for the club following the sacking of teenage ace Robert Lambert and the capture of top Premier League star Ben Barker earlier in the week. Barker makes his debut against Newcastle tomorrow night. Blackbird had been acting as stand-in captain with skipper Ulrich Ostergaard out injured. Reserve Simon Lambert will now take on that role when he returns from his own injury lay-off. Ostergaard will now represent the club in the Premier League Riders’ Championship at Sheffield on September 6. The Danish ace, currently out with a broken hand, but expected to be back racing within days, finished third in the same event in 2014. More to all of this than meets the eye!!! Who wants a Fiver that he comes out of retirement at some stage?

peterborough daz
Why would there be more to this? 6.53 to play with. Compton and Lanham the obvious choices are slightly too high. What options are there out there? Edited August 20, 2015 by dazpanther
scoobydoo
Who at the beginning of the season would of said that Leigh Lanham would have an higher average at this stage of the season than Lewis Blackbird
TheScotsman
Not me - I have a bet on with GordonBennett that Lewis would have a better average that Lambert R. !! I now concede!!

northyorksbear
Isn't Dakota Nortg around 6.5? You're using that dodgy Palm Toft calculator for converting averages he is 5.86 in EL which convert to around 8.2 !! Leigh's average is below 6 from tomorrow How do you get a new average mid month, unless he was on an assessed average?
