peterborough daz
I'd heard that Simon had broken his shoulder on the grapevine as well I was planning on going to Workington/Glasgow this weekend for the first time ever, but I'm unsure as to whether I will go now or not...Broken shoulder blade according to the ET and wants to be back on 2 weeks http://m.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/speedway/bad-break-for-simon-but-he-could-be-back-in-a-fortnight-1-6865173 Edited July 23, 2015 by dazpanther
jenga
The doctor in London must have worked wonders.. Good to have him back and good news about Lambo if true..I wonder if he'll be back for the 4TT because apparently Grondal and R.Lambert not allowed because of some BS rule by the Clowns that run British speedway. Dont know where this news has come from though as nothing on the Panthers website?#shock its not B.S. its the rules and they have been in place for a long time. its always going to work against you if your rider has not ridden the required number of official meeting for you club. can you please stop moaning and accept the rule as it stands . It's a stupid rule when we have 3 riders fit and well to ride and yet may have to use a guest I would pull out personally if we can't track our own riders. I get the Grondal rule as he's new to the club but Rob Lambert has an average now.
Crump99
You can tell it's written by speedway hating Swann: he's probably read that supremo is a no-go but he's no idea who it relates to? "Peterborough Panthers supremo hopes" Broken shoulder, 2 1/2 weeks - that'd be some trick! That's pushing it for a simple collar bone. scoobydoo
The last point is interesting they wouldn't of qualified surely with the four expected to ride

Hodgy
They didn't need to qualify, they're the hosts. You sure? My understand was qualifification was based on top 5 riders averages, thus creating top 8 teams at the cut of point when Jupiter aligns with Mars. Whose averages did they use to qualify? olly allen had a pl average and they used that, just like when peterborough used it to get guests in to cover for him when he was injured. premotion knew he was a long term casualty.. lewis blackbird had a pl average from last year and a pretty good one at that. ulrich had a pl average. one of the best riders around mpt has an official average. simon lambert has an official. the only 2 riders that did not have an official average at the time if qualifaction cut off point are robert lambert and grondal.. the 4s hosts are always g/teed to be in it. its just unfortunate that its happened to one of your top guys. but that's speedway. I thought they did needed to qualify in the same way that all the others have? that system went out years ago. remember all the qualifiers around your local tracks lets face it, who would have thought that p/borough would be in this position for the 4s. i remember charles wright and joe haines being in the 4s at workington because worky had some injury problems. the home team(hosts) are fast tracked into the finals. ( i am sure) the other reason for the home team qualifying is so that the home supporters are alwys going to show face and then you get the added bonus of travelling away supporte swelling the attendance. i suppose its like that other stupid rule being able to get a guest in for a rider who you know is out for the season and then noan about it when you need to have individual averages to get in. sheffield are hosting the pllrc, but no simon stead or birks etc. wonder if they can use a guest ? maybe kurtz, lawson or cook. no, didnt think so. maybe they could use tungater , if he aint banned lol. That's all subjective. Still not convinced hosts qualify automatic - but stand to be corrected.

pvm
The last time the rules for qualification were published for the Fours (and the Pairs), it included the provision for a "Wild-Card" entry. The Wild-Card entry was in-case the host team didn't qualify, it gave the BSPA an excuse to include the host team. In most cases the host team qualified on merit so the wild-card entry went to the team next in line anyway. I think there was some controversy over a wild-card choice a few years ago, so the qualification rules stopped being published.
jenga
..and can you please attach yourself to a non Panthers thread as you are annoying. oh eck,, putt your dummy back in and get yourself a fresh nappy on . you cant tell me what posts i can respond to, i don't normally call people names, because normally they are not normal .. live with it, its a forum where every one can make a comment on any subject they like.. if we all stuck to everyone only posting on their own site. it would be a dead and boring site..kitchen,heat,get out.
