Mimmo
How true. It's like phoning the track to see if the meeting's on as you're sweeping the water off your drive! Club websites should be up to date and the first port of call for supporters. The fact that they aren't says much about communications within the sport. If you can't give fans even basic information then don't be surprised that they don't turn up (that's not just here but generally throughout the season). Spot on there Crump99, I think we've all been misled over the years, both by websites, and direct calls to the stadium.
TAST
They say at meetings though to check the club website for latest news. If you were checking the website now to see whether or not you can go to that Halloween party you'd confirm that you could, when in fact you may wish to be at the EoES. Trev But is anyone actually paying to update and maintain the "Official Site" anymore? Would not surprise me if any "Prospective" promotion can't use the Official site because the "Old Promotion" might still have its sticky fingers on it and is the only party who can authorise changes. just speculating Tel

Crump99
Maybe they've chosen a Friday night to test out all those that say they prefer Fridays! one for the Friday night will solve all brigade: Peterborough Panthers chiefs hope a proposed return to their traditional Friday racenight in 2013 will bring an end to falling attendances. Panthers co-owner Julie Mahoney said: “Myself and Rick (fellow owner, Frost) have been told constantly that racing on a Friday is what is needed at Peterborough. It's more what's on offer than the night (Tuesday apart) IMO. The complete entertainment package it was called at one point - &: was another tough year off the track with Panthers again making losses of more than £100,000 - the norm during the five-and-a-half-year reign of Frost and fellow owner Julie Mahoney. - Oct 28 2013: " Edited October 24, 2014 by Crump99
em1500uk
Exactly....stay inside and get wound up every 2 minutes by the door going, or turn up and try and save something for the community, hard call. I actually hadn't thought of it being Halloween that night...until I came on here but yeah, I can't be doing with it. Get me out of here! A greater effort to publicise would be a good plan. Someone made a similar comment to Mark Plummer on Twitter either yesterday or the day before and Plummer said it would be going on the club's own Twitter/Facebookwebsite...but when, I do not have a bloody clue! King 8.81 Sissis 5.00 Blackbird 6.59 Jorgensen 7.12 Ully 8.25 Searjent 3.00 Perks 3.00 41.77 Certainly be a good present Sissis rumored to be quitting the moto gp scene and taking up speedway, TJ not going to be at Scunthorpe next season, and 2 reserves who would add a couple of points to there averages, and gives up a strong top 5. Thomas Jorgensen not at Scunthorpe? How come? What have I missed?! I really like him. Think he can be entertaining and exciting! It's in the paper (well the online edition at least) and I've heard about it and I'm not local. I'll be there. I'm not local either *cough* Stars fan first by rights *cough* but I'm travelling from 20 miles from the other side of King's Lynn near the North Norfolk coast for this, so I hope many others also make a similar effort. If they're that bothered about speedway remaining in the city, they should make themselves known.

Young51
A hog roast would go down well. Not for the poor piggie sacrificed for it Scotsman.. I seriously hope something positive happens for Peterboro over the close season.I and many others..yep even those Panther supporting traitors from down the A47 at the Norfolk end love watching speedway at the Showground It would be a real shame and a big blow to our wonderful sport if it was to close.. Let's face it speedway needs as many good news stories in these times..so here's hoping i'm celebrating yet another Edinburgh Monarchs cup win at the EOES next season I certainly think a Tuesday race night has to change for one..but the most important thing is that doors stay open.I wish you all the best Panther peeps Edited October 25, 2014 by Young51
Noodles
Finally on Panthers website: http://www.peterboroughpanthers.co/news.php?extend.2328.2 HUGE NIGHT FOR PANTHERS PETERBOROUGH co-promoter Trevor Swales has dubbed an upcoming fans forum as one of the biggest nights in the clubs history. Swales and Ged Rathbone, who joined the management team during last season, have joined forces to spearhead a bid for Panthers' survival. The clubs future is again in the balance after Mick Horton pulled out of a two-year leasehold deal for the club after just one turbulent season. Swales and Rathbone have organised a fans event for next Friday (October 31) in the Peterborough Suite at the East of England Showground (7.30pm start, free admission). And they say a good turnout is vital as they bid to ensure the club can race on in 2015. Swales said: Next Friday is right up there with the biggest nights in the history of Peterborough Speedway. The future of the club will depend on the turnout and support we receive at the fans event. Myself and Ged have ideas about what is required for the club to race on in the Premier League in 2015 and we will outline our plans to those present. But it is very clear that the club cannot survive on admission money along as was proven during this year. We are going to be in a position where we will need pledges of support from the fans and I would urge anyone who wants to the see Peterborough Speedway at the tapes next year to be at the Peterborough Suite on Friday. Panthers have been at the tapes in every year since the club's inception in 1970. More of the same on BSPA website too: http://speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.27673 Edited October 25, 2014 by Noodles

Am sure there are many of us that will miss it in the meantime. Looks like it won't be back... I asked "Rigsby" on Twitter earlier about the unofficial forum vanishing and he said this "Yup! That's PL & a Horton/Swales production for you. I gave it a go but It's done me in & if we survive it's virtually same as." So there ya go! Not for the poor piggie sacrificed for it Scotsman.. wealdstone
Like most I do hope that "Rigsby" restores his site. I know that Pro Boards have told him they can restore it, whether or not there is a time limit is uncertain. I also know Riggers that you look at this forum so please get things up and running again.
