SCB
Having just watched the polish playoff's it hard to believe british speedway is the same sport Watch last years final and then compare the two
Tsunami
Not a chance Woffy bikes had unreal speed and make a average rider a World Champion . I have my doubts that they were even legal .  Another away to look at if all bikes were standard would have he had won ? not a chance   I hope I haven't misunderstood but if you are suggesting for one second that Woffy might be using illegal kit then you really have produced a post that is the lowest of the low. If you knew this kid you would understand exactly how he became world champion and to be absolutely frank it's got next to F A to do with bikes. Have I misunderstood, please tell me I have j arthur!  orion. That is just bullish!t. Tai was using engines from a tuner who also supplied these engines to three other riders. Why did they not win or seem to go as fast.
Arson fire
The tyres Hancock uses, are they the same as the others??..if not, what's the difference??. His grip and speed off the starts is phenomenal, and to the naked eye he is streets ahead at the bend compared to anyone else..from most gates aswell. It is his choice to use them AF, and everyone could use them as well. The riders know they have advantages and disadvantages, but they are all free to use the Golden tyres. Tsunami
What's the difference in them It was described on the previous GP that they are different compounds, and i think softer, but not so durable. They respond different on different surfaces. Could be very little difference, Greg could be getting paid to use them and of course Greg was always a great gater. BWitcher
A ridiculous statement you have to be good to ride quick bikes end of,i thought this of Hans Nielsen in his day how wrong i was.If you put a average rider on his Tai,s aquipment at say a King's Lynn ( like the WTC a few years ago dirt galore on in) alot of riders would get out of shape and would not be able to cope. Â Stephen Morris, reserve rider for Wolverhampton. Â Retired due to blowing all his engines up. Â Final meeting Sam Ermolenko gave him a bike to ride.. He scored paid 20 from 7 I believe. Â Yes you have to have the ability, but at the top level machinery is the MOST important thing.

Billy Janniro, 5 point man. Yet any play-offs or cup meeting he'd use Scott Nicholls bikes and suddenly become a point scoring machine. Â That said, I would imagine most of the bikes in the its for a GP are of a similar level and it is more down to set-up.

Humphrey Appleby
Compare Speedway to club Road Racing or Karting and it does very well  Depends what you're trying to compare. Karting is a participatory sport and to the best of my knowledge has never tried to be a spectator sport, even if some meetings in 60s pulled some large crowds. However, as the grassroots of F1, it attracts monied people and I'd suggest is in a far better financial state than speedway. It's certainly better run than speedway, even at the lowest club level.  Don't know so much about road racing, but I'd imagine it's more in-line with karting than speedway. One isolated incident picked out of a hat that incident was not fantasy, but for some people's reckoning anybody could jump on Tai's bike and be world champ it is so EASY well that is. Vince
There are kids out here that have engine's that cost as much as a GP riders, they can't ride them and so aren't World Champion. Riders jumping on others bikes and doing well is still a case of getting on a bike that is set up for them. I bought a bike off Bjarne Pedersen several years ago for my son, we still have the dyno charts here and it made an incredible amount of power. It didn't turn him into a superstar because he didn't have the ability to either set it up perfectly or ride it as it needed to be. Put Tai on that same bike and with a couple of races to set it up he would be winning EL races. Â He was easily the best rider in the GP series last year and it's nonsense to say his bike was illegal now there is now ay of proving you wrong, it's not something he or Peter Johns would risk though. Spot on Vince how many riders have you seen over the years who you knew had inferior kit but could improve on other people's?.But most of those never had the consistency that's why they did not reach the next level.Orion is right on one issue though,it is important to have good kit but to suggest anybody could jump on a quick bike and do well is well a touch nieve. It wasn't an isolated incident and proves that a rider with a reasonable amount of experience (Morris had a lot of laps under his belt by then) will always do better on good equipment. Just common sense isn't it?

I can name at least twenty riders who would of achieved more on better stuff but we could say that throughout the decades. Nobody has said that Sidney.
