Leicester Lions 2015

Ben Barker would have been a good signing for Leicester and am sure the fans woukd have took to him after a couple of meetings.

However his premier league home track is fellow Saturday track Berwick and also Norrie wanted to avoid double up riders if at all possible.

It will all become clear shortly just awaiting the signed paperwork to be completed and no SCB Wozniak is staying in fact he has arrived in Leicester today for pre season practice this week and to hopefully find some good setups. I am told by various people he is so keen to come here and race and determined to give it his all

Not enough points left for Shamek!!

I have 6.92 left for the final place with Doyle 8.44, Pedersen 7.12, Michelsen 6.02 and Wozniak 5.50 signed up.

Shamek is 6.75

What average is Ben Barker does he have a team place in the elite yet?

As stated, clash of race nights with Berwick quite a few times so no go

Shamak won't ride for a sat track when he has polish commitments the following day.

I would agree just saying he does fit and personally think Kylmakorpi would suit them better as long as he can fit in his Longtrack meetings.

Shamek is again with Leszno, but when you look at the squad they have put together, they may not need him !!

Are the current Poole and Coventry tracks the same length as the 1960's tracks?. I visited both and don't remember them as being particularly small, though of course after West Ham every track was smaller. Wimbledon always struck me as small but I'm sure Poole and Coventry were larger.

Coventry's track length is 301 metres, from 2006 onwards. Prior to that it was 303 metres. Poole's is 299.1 metres. I'm certainly not going to argue with flagrag but I wouldn't class either as a 'smaller track.' I'd say Belle Vue, Lakeside, Wolverhampton and Eastbourne fit that description but I'm not checking as it's my bedtime. :D

Wolves is 264 meters and has changed size a number of times over the years so thats only 56 meters over one kilometer

According to averages on BSPA site Bjarne is 7.38. That leaves 6.66.

Leicester seems to be about 317 metres, so not that much bigger than Coventry but by the same token Belle Vue is 283 metres, so not that much smaller than Coventry. It really depends where you draw the line between big and small tracks. As a spectator, Belle Vue rides to me like a small track but Coventry, Poole and Leicester like big tracks.

Lionking A good list of riders there but as you say it's not one of them on your list .

The good news for Leicester fans is the rider in question has the potential to improve further and has shown that they can ride both the small and big tracks at a high level.

I would not like to say who will turn out to be the 3rd heat leader this year it could be any one of the new rider, Mikkel or Wozniak hopefully they can all be fighting for it scoring 8-9 points a meeting

Lets hope he does turn out to be as good as you are making out or someone is going to look a bit like a male member :-)

You could be right TMW. Flagrag would be left with egg not only on his face but up the back and front of his trousers if he turns out to be a flapper. Like the old style greyhounds stadiums that earned that name.

He is a good rider. He will need time like most foreigners do on these shores.

He will be a rider for the following year.

But you do have a decent rider

I like to comment once the season starts. As we know, racing doesn't happen on paper. Just hope we aren't subjected to the endless moaning if things don't quiyr go to plan. I enjoy my speedway good, bad or in different. There seems to be an endless need to win and rub other teams noses in it.

Please be assured this is not a racist post.

I believe Leicester is the only city in the UK with a majority non-white population. Is this cultural diversity reflected in the attendance at Leicester speedway?.

As we are now a multi-cultural society does speedway in general attract a diverse audience?.

If not, why not and what can speedway do to broaden it's appeal?.
