lionking
NEMO has no wishes to ride in the UK . He is very happy with Sweden & Finland I thought Klindt put in some good shifts for Leicester last year.....it was in PL where he struggled. Never mind. If Leicester do sign Shamek, (now the Ward dust has settled down on the south coast), and have to jettison Wozniak as a result, could it be that Captain Nemo will ride back into town?? justathought
No its not the BSPA site. it's here http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=78142 knew I'd seen it somewhere.
weatherwatcher
I can't see why they didn't feature Klindt in the line up he put in some sound performances for us last year, yes he had a few bad rides but a lot of them do. Even Jason Doyle went through a sticky patch after he was injured. Still I have a strong feeling that we will not be seeing Klindt return in Lions colours this year. Hope that they put us out of our misery soon in who the last rider will be, At least we have a fairly strong team put together, so just hope the last signing makes it a team, that will be there amongst the other teams at the top of the league and not the bottom again as with last years team that never really stayed together long enough, with far to long with guest riders,

If its on the BSF it must be right then!! Check the final 2014 averages on the BSPA website - Pedersen 7.38. and as has been stated Wozniak is 5.50. No room for Shamek on 6.75 but there are other Poole assets that might become available after Poole declare their 1-7. But Leicester will have to ask permission from MF very nicely - just in case he asks for Bjarne back??!!
lionking
I understand Nicolai was approached about his availability not just by Leicester but also premier league clubs but he has told everyone he is giving the UK a miss in 2015 so he can concentrate on a project away from speedway so he will only be doing Poland,Sweden & Denmark where they have set race nights to fit around his personal life. I can't see why they didn't feature Klindt in the line up he put in some sound performances for us last year, yes he had a few bad rides but a lot of them do. justathought
Norrie & David confirmed Wozniak was 5.50 at the fans forum to announce Bjarne Pedersen. It doesn't give averages on the BSPA website
weatherwatcher
So with only 6.66 left to play with what riders are still out there that are half good or very good. Can't be bothered to look at all the teams to see he they have and then see what riders there are out there that want to ride here. Preety sure it will not be a Brit, so it will either be another Pole or a Swed. unless there is a stray Aussie about who could quickly get a visa. Please help me out with a list of names then we can all decide who it will be that is unless there is going to be some alterations to the riders that are already named. lionking
This is purely a list of riders who finished last season currently without a that fit under 6.66. I know some have said they won't be riding in uk in 2015 Richie Worrall Michael Palm Toft Ben Barker (signed for Berwick) Kenneth Hansen (signed for Workington) Krysztof Buczkowski (refused a deal) Mads Kornielussen (unlikely) Nicolai Klindt (refused a deal) Simon Gustafsson (not doing uk) Jonas Kylmakorpi Timo Lahti Josh Gradzoniek (can he double ?) Vacslav Milik (likely to be at Poole) Lasse Bjerre Not a lot to go on there so think it may be a rider who didn't ride or finish the season here last year. weatherwatcher
Hope so because if you take away the refused a deal lads, the ones who are riding in the PL as the Lions didn't want to use double up riders again, it leaves not a lot to the imagination. Lassie Bjerre, just hasn't quite made his mark on the EL. But there must still be some decent riders out there in Poland and Sweden that are good young up coming riders. MattK
Plenty of good options out there for Leicester. I strong third heatleader would definitely put them in contention for a play-off place IMO.
flagrag
Lionking A good list of riders there but as you say it's not one of them on your list . The good news for Leicester fans is the rider in question has the potential to improve further and has shown that they can ride both the small and big tracks at a high level. I would not like to say who will turn out to be the 3rd heat leader this year it could be any one of the new rider, Mikkel or Wozniak hopefully they can all be fighting for it scoring 8-9 points a meeting
LeicesterLion39
LEICESTER LIONS (7.42 left) 1. Jason Doyle? 8.44 2. Bjarne Pedersen 7.12 3. Mikkel Michelsen 6.02 4. Szymon Wozniak 5.00 5. 6. Josh Auty 7. Simon Lambert Szymon Wozniak is on a 5.50 average I would like to see another young pole, Pawel Przedpelski, who raised a few eyebrows in Sweden and Poland last year and from what I seen i am sure he rode in Denmark as well. weatherwatcher
From what I have seen of them there are quite a few talented young Polish riders around just now. It is just a shame that British speedway hasn't helped our own riders to come along at the same rate as the other countries have. The young British riders have been left in the dark and neglected far far to long. Just hope that giving them rides in the EL reserve postion can bring them on further, not sure if this is enough of a step up in class, the upper management of our sport should be setting up meetings against teams from Poland, etc, they shoud be getting at least 4 or 5 meetings of this nature a season. We need these lads for the sake of our sport over here and for the future of the British team don't like the team GB name it should have been dropped awhile ago. Can't make a purse out of a sow's ear just by changing the name of the team to team GB and then struggling along year in year out with the same tired and worn riders, many of them who have proved that they just haven't got what it takes. Seems Flagrag knows more than he is letting on, just hope that the rider he mentions brings the credentials with him, so that the Lions will be up there at the top of the table at the end of the coming season, would be lovely to see after only 2 years in the EL. Not a half bad side so far. It looks like the management have learnt from the mistakes of last season, not entirely their fault as 2 riders that came deserted their post after a few weeks just as the team was starting to gell, then used far to many guest riders before getting riders to fill the places, we never really came back into it again until the last few meetings but then it was to late to do anything. Looking forward to the coming season. Edited March 1, 2015 by weatherwatcher
flagrag
Weather watcher - The rider in question I am sure will raise a few eyebrows when he is announced by the club which I am sure will be done once all the paperwork is completed. He is a shown to be a steady and consistent performer with a smooth style who can beat the best on his day which is ideal in what you need in a 3rd heatleader position. This signing will hopefully give Leicester a bit more strength away from home on some of the smaller tracks like Belle Vue, Wolverhampton, Lakeside,Poole and Coventry. It is at these tracks the Lions struggled last season with no back up for Doyle but this year should be different with additions of Bjarne,Michelson and the new signing so if Wozniak struggles it won't matter so much. Roll on the start of the season and hopefully a nice dry summer I saw a pic on the Internet yesterday of Wozniak with his Leicester bikes all ready and excited for the season
weatherwatcher
Yes lets hope it does turn out to be one memerable season. As you stated Jason was let down on more than one occasion. If he had someone there to have backed him up I don't think we would have been sitting so far down the table last season. Lets hope they can make the top four, can't see why not, if as you say the last rider will raise some eyebrows, so far we have a really good and solid team in place.
