T.N.T.
SIMON GUSTAFSSON - To me this is a rider that has failed to reach his full potential and if he could be persuaded to return to Britain this year he could be a good signing for Leicester as he proved at Swindon that he can score big points and did quite well to average 5.92 on his first season away from the tiny Eastbourne track. He rode for eastbourne happily enough whilst doing his longtrack, also he wasnt just out in andora, he lives there:P So does Fredrik Lindgren !! lionking
Did i not read at the end of last season that Gustafsson had retired. customhouseregular
Riders will go wherever they feel it is to their advantage and in their best interests. Sadly for many, this does not mean the UK.
weatherwatcher
iI think nowadys that riding in the UK is now the bottom of the ladder as far as the top riders are concerned. What we get are riders that are coming to the end of their racing days and young guns from overseas who are trying to make a name for themselves. The top gp riders just can't be bothered because they know that the money they ask for will not be met. It is hard to say the way that speedway is over here now if most of the clubs could ever entice the top guys back here, without the club going under because of spending over the top on riders wages. A bit sad really as we where the country where every rider wanted to come and show that they where just that the worlds top class riders. We are now just a second class or maybe even second class in the speedway world.

None of the riders get a contract in Poland or Sweden until they've cut their cloth in Britain & then they drop it like a stone. Sad but true. SCB
None of the riders get a contract in Poland or Sweden until they've cut their cloth in Britain & then they drop it like a stone. Sad but true. When you say none, you mean the Aussies and Americans. Because most other nationalities are riding in Poland early on - Sweden not so muhc just because there are less teams. The Danes as well need British speedway as who knew Peter Kilderman before he rode in Britain?.

Maybe the Fans at Opole and Pila where he spent a combined 3 season before signing for Workington?
Crazy robin
Maybe the Fans at Opole and Pila where he spent a combined 3 season before signing for Workington? Pretty sure he wouldn't have got rides in Poland & Sweden based on Danish league racing but guess we'll never know.
Tsunami
Pretty sure he wouldn't have got rides in Poland & Sweden based on Danish league racing but guess we'll never know. Came to Britain in the second season and rode in an Open meeting at Redcar and did very well, trying to get noticed. He signed for Worky, even though we thought we had him. He was in the same era as Kenni L and Rene B. Edited January 24, 2015 by Tsunami

Guess riding in the lower leagues in Poland was what made him then!!!!
Bagpuss
Guess riding in the lower leagues in Poland was what made him then!!!! Riding in those lower league and impressing gets you contracts in the top leagues abroad regardless of what happens over here, would be the same for Craig Cook if he could get a ride in Sweden or Poland, or any of our younger lads. Kyle Newman has a Polish ride this year, hopefully he will do well and one or two others will follow his lead. neb
Why the delay in completing the 2015 teamwhy ask a stupid question that your not going to get the answer too.
weatherwatcher
The team should have been sorted out and named, quite a while ago, it would have at least have been nice to know on the Lions site a few pointers to who the last riders where likly to be even if they didn't actully mention names, they could have at least have given a few leads. It is the same every year, the Lions website fails to let the fans know about most things that are happening. Not just in the close season but all season long. robert72
why ask a stupid question that your not going to get the answer too. As a potential customer it's not a stupid question at all. Leicester's line up should of been completed by now.
Happy Hunter
I suspect that the delay in naming all riders (other clubs have to complete as well) is that Poole are waiting on the results of Darcy Ward's hearing on the 30th January - so don't hold your breath until then!
