1 valve
Sponsors, shareholders & the majority of season ticket holders all do something us pay on the day supporters don’t do and that is put their money up front before the total rider line up and fixtures are known. Sure during the season some of that same up front group complain about whats going on within the club or on track performance, which like us pick and choosers they are entitled to do no more no less. Understandably, DH like many similar organisations rewards the upfront investors with a few perks which is good business practice and may encourage others to invest. So in this case, it means that although I am as keen as anybody else to know who the next signing is going to be, I guess I will have to wait the few hours, maybe even minutes after the announcement at the official meeting to find out who it is...whoever, my real interest is that he compliments the team and the Lions promotion deliver a successful (& profitable) 2015 season.

Big Al
Why don't they just charge non season ticket holders a small fee to attend? Some fans work shifts where it would make no sense buying a season ticket. They dont want the riff-raff getting in and eating all the prawn sarnies and guzzling the champagne
Wolfsbane
Call me old fashioned but I wouldn't consider buying a season ticket UNTIL I knew what the team was Edited January 16, 2015 by Wolfsbane

Gemini
They dont want the riff-raff getting in and eating all the prawn sarnies and guzzling the champagne Looks like they've had a change of plan so the riff-raff can attend now. Stand by for pushing and shoving to get the best sandwiches as those not quick enough will get bread and jam and a glass of water for their fiver. An increase in the size of the room at the Marriott Hotel, Smith Way, Grove Park, Enderby has enabled us to open the event to all Lions fans next Thursday 22nd January when the sixth member of the team will be introduced. There will be an entrance charge of £5 per person payable on the night for non-season ticket holders.

I think someone might have been reading this post!, management have announced a bigger room at the Marriott has become available meaning non-season ticket holders can attend for a £5 fee. flagrag
Well common sense has prevailed yet again I do wonder when DH will learn to look after all his customers. Oh dear LionKing looks like you have lost one of your shareholders bonuses maybe you should invest your money into your other team the Miami Heat
Steve0
Interesting article on swindonlinksport : Link Sport understands Bjarne Pedersen, who at the end of 2014 revealed he had retired from British racing, contacted Swindon regarding a move but is due to sign for Leicester in the next few days having initially been set for Wolverhampton. And it looks like Miedsinski is heading to Blunsdon! http://www.swindonlinksport.com/2015/01/16/robins-could-complete-deal-for-number-one-this-weekend/ Edited January 16, 2015 by Steve0
Pirates Of Poole
The cat is out the bag with Bjarne then, Not really Swindons place to announce the likely signing.

Pirates Of Poole
they didn't - it was a journalist! The Swindon journalist who only rights for Swindon was fed information from club officials, how would he know Swindon are about to potentially sign their final rider? They did the same with Dak and the press. Swindon know where Bjarne was going as they called him but it was too late he was already sorted. Bjarne isn't exactly going to sign for another club and then call Swindon and ask for a team place is he? The only reason Swindon know where he is off to is because Rosco called him and it was too late. Most people don't listen to journalists anyway but it seems you are the one who has confirmed where he is going Also, the article says that Bjarne contacted Rosco whereas you say otherwise. So you believe one thing he writes but not another? Thanks for the confirmation though! Edited January 16, 2015 by Steve0
Pirates Of Poole
In the interview it says they had spoken to Rosco who confirmed they were close to signing their number one. In the same article it mentions Bjarne likely to go to Leicester. Rosco opened his mouth with out a doubt and not the first time to announce other teams potential signings. With regards to your comment about Rosco saying he contacted Swindon - seems similar to the the Doyle situation where he says certain things are being told incorrectly and I guarantee this is a snipe from Swindon to Leicester because of the current Doyle situation. Big Al
Well common sense has prevailed yet again I do wonder when DH will learn to look after all his customers. Oh dear LionKing looks like you have lost one of your shareholders bonuses maybe you should invest your money into your other team the Miami Heat He's (DH) perfectly entitled to do what he likes. But why not have a thank-you "do" at an hotel like the Marriott for financial backers (and how about the volunteers as well?), maybe have the two English rider lads along? Then hold an open event for anyone at a more basic type venue, maybe charge £2 and provide basic refreshments, Q&A session by DH and Allan, and use it to announce/update rider signings etc and unveil the fixture list. That's also the best chance to get new season ticket holders signed up. Simples!
flagrag
What a surprise that Swindon release the Bjarne information before Leicester have their event next week I just see it as poor sportsmanship due to the ongoing Doyle situation and another rider turning Swindon down for Leicester
lionking
I am quite happy where my money is thank you very much plus it's a long way to watch every match. I invested to help out & because i was in fortunate the position to so. I know almost every lions fan would do the same if they could. My shares have lead to onto many good things within the club to help out Well common sense has prevailed yet again I do wonder when DH will learn to look after all his customers.
