Maybe Collins and Briggs can come out of retirement to fill the slots, because the way thinks are looking there will be no riders to pick from soon.

a big hitter and bring mk back who will score you points against any rider at home, that should do the trick.not sure what magnus would come back on but it must be around the 4 mark.

Haha Neb as much as I like Magnus as a rider and a person he is not elite league standard unless you could bring him on a 3.00 average as away from Leicester his scores will not be great.

dont be so sure flagrag so your saying he wont score his average (around the 4 mark)in the elite league,i think he will walk that no problem home and away.

Not sure but I should not think for one moment that Magnus would be in DH team list for this year. As usual it has all gone very quite on the Lions website. We probably won't know who the rest of the team is until the first practice sesion. Not sure why they keep everything so hush hush. I am sure it would do them some credit if they let the Lions fans know who they had in the pipeline.

The Lions web site is hopeless - it still shows all the riders who rode last year - no mention of the ones we have signed let alone those we might sign! Check out the shop page as well - really exciting isn't it! It would be interesting to see the Speedway Star do a club web site comparison like they do for programmes.

Can't imagine a worse website for speed of updates and content. The merchandise page is special but the lions TV is incredible. Last entry is an interview in May 2013 and there are only 4 or so interviews post Simon Lambert being interviewed in 2012.

That's up to date as far as the Lion's web site is concerned!

Seems the fee for Doyle is going to be around 30k http://www.swindonlinksport.com/2015/01/02/swindon-and-leicester-still-to-reach-agreement-after-doyle-transfer-request-confirmed/

Depenmding on negotiation that is.

I thought riders were self employed? so how can a transfer fee be involved?...surely that would be restraint of trade to stop a rider from earning a living.......I'm surprised nobody has challenged the ridiculous asset system.

Wasn't it you that said the asset system was meaningless. It appears it's alive and well.

What planet are swindon living on?. I thought transfer fees were set by grading and almost fixed to a grade

Well he is now an SGP rider and has a high EL average so is one of the top riders around. Having said that I would be surprised if his transfer fee is anywhere near £30K.

What I meant was I thought riders were now the subject of a fixed price depending on the criteria they meet to avoid spurious demands which the sport can I'll afford. An agree ment bought in when Darcy Ward was transferred from KL to Poole

I have no idea - this is speedway and the rules seem to be made up to suit. What price did Darcy go for? I think Doyley will go for a similar price - or possibly more if you rate experience and success over the potential of Darcy - who several years later still hasn't realised his potential.
