justathought
As for KK he has reached World#2 by dropping Britain and having a fixed race night. Like Tai, Nicki, Jarek etc they see this as the way forward. How do you know that they see it as the way forward.
Shale Searcher
Money!! Check out the Polish league thread in the International section and see the list of Polish clubs that are either unlicensed for 2015 or only have a 'conditional' licence granted by the Polish authorities. Big political and legal questions being asked in Poland about local/regional funding of speedway teams, clubs and stadia!!! So it's having problems as well, perhaps the Polish Speedway Bubble has burst, if not at least severely stretched..........
Skodaman
No use DH dreaming on that he has the best track in the counrty, it isn't. So as soon as he gives in and makes the changes the better. Barry Briggs thinks it is the best track in the Elite League because riders have to use their head whenriding it!! The only meetings i have seen at Leicester have been on my tv or computer screen but i agree from what i have seen quite a few riders have fallen on their heads whilst riding it lol

TMW
DH wouldn't be that stupid not to include the best lions rider since the club came back just because he said what most people already know. The question is will DH make the changes to the track? Doubtful !I was replying to LK stating thst Watt had bern vocal about the track. So has Doyle. If they neef Watt they will sign him. stevebrum
People who make this daft statement have clearly never a speedway bike. Not that this statement makes any sense but I think I know what you meant to say. I see it the other way actually. People who have had a go realise quite quickly the throttle works both ways! I have watched so many newcomers think the only way is to keep the throttle open when the art is learning when to give it some or not!. barrow boy
People who make this daft statement have clearly never a speedway bike. But in this case I think the poster who said this was a rider of some repute. Is the son of a former world finalist and is currently a track curator and bike builder. weatherwatcher
The modern day machines are far less controlable than how the old uprights handled. They gave the rider so many more options. The new machines and espesially the engines are desined to work at high revs than the old ones. If they shut them down to much now they have every liabillity of stalling. But I think a lot of the accidents now are actually caused by having bikes that are being riden flat out from start to finish, and espesially younger riders have not got enough skill to be able to control them, even so there are a few youngsters that go out and ride them like they where born on them, The only way to get more even and competative rides, is a complete redisign of the bikes engine wise and frame to suit. But that will never happen. To much has been spent over the years in building the modern speedway bike and a lot of people are making a lot of money in developing them and tuning them. Any news on the new rider front, when can we expect to hear when the other will be announced.
INCOGNITO
Riders mainly don't like the shape and lines available to them at Leicester as they often have to enter the bend at a certain line or risk going off line. Simple changes could make it much better racing and more enjoyable for all concerned. Edited December 14, 2014 by INCOGNITO
weatherwatcher
The biggest problem is the length of the straights and the very tight, sharpe bends, they get up so much speed down the straight and a lot of riders find it very hard to control the bike when half way around the bends. We see it nearly every meeting where they hit the air fence on the apex of both bends. Can't remember which rider it was this year that almost had his bike go into the crowd on turns 3/4, without going through my programmes. Josh Bates was a master of the arts of hitting the air fence at leatwice a meeting. So yes it needs a lot of tweeking this winter, just hope that the message that Jason Doyle made is taken heed of by the powers above, doubt it will have to wait and see, what they tell us or we get to see on the first team practice day. flagrag
Tai Woffindens bike actually did go over the fence in heat 15 of the Wolverhampton match which was the big crash he had 24hrs before flying to New Zealand
flagrag
I have heard that Richie Worrall has signed for an elite league club I wonder if he could be coming to Leicester as unless Somerset drop him he can not go to Coventry or Lakeside due to Fridays ,Swindon will have Morris & Howarth as double up riders,Wolves have other options so I can only see it being Leicester or Poole. Although this is not the signing most fans are waiting on its the no 1 or 2 who is going to score the points along with Doyle. Unless there's been a change of plan can't see Worrall coming to Lions, because when Michelsen was signed it was announced he would ride at 2 or 4, if Worrall signs this means Michelsen would have to be a heat-leader as he's got a higher average than Worrall. weatherwatcher
Can't see DH moving anything on his beloved track, he sees nothing wrong with it. Shame because it could be the best track in the country if things where altered. As for who is going to be the other riders to wear the Lions colours next year only time will tell. There is not even a hint to any names on the Lions website, I think the webmaster is a former KGB agent, who likes to keep all the fans left out in the cold, with no knowladge of the things that are going on, they should have a huge hammer and sykle above the entrance.
