ch958
Shock, Horror!! British EL Saturday track signs young Polish rider, before knowing the points limit, the assessed average or the fixture list!! How many meetings will he actually ride in??? Is this really a 'Norrie Allan' masterstroke or a touch of naivety at its worst??! these were my thoughts exactly - i suppose the sensible merger of the two leagues won't happen then

I would hazard a guess that they know exactly what the points limit will be and what the assessed ave will be and as the press release says. The Poles are keen for him to ride in Britain so he can continue his development so I'd say he will be allowed to ride.

TMW
.....unless or until his form in Poland dips and/or there are any fixture clashes!! Time will tell. I just hate the fact that people get excited when there is much potentia for disaster then the moaning starts. I always with hold judgement. Buczkowski is a very exciting rider but didn't score many points......
springdale
Wouldn't Doyle be riding in the GP's on a Saturday, and practice on Fridays ?

arnieg
He certainly shouldn't be looking at his average in Poland. I know it a league below but he is higher that some established riders. However it is from reserve so not a good indicator. His Swedish and Polish scores are probably a better indicator. Danish Superliga: Niklas Porsing 6.29, Kenneth Hansen 6.42, Wozniak 6.83. Max Fricke 7.12, Nikolai Klindt 7,17, Krsyztof Buczkowski 7.43, Patrick Hougaard 7.53 Allsvenskan: Wozniak 6.67 (but just 2 matches) - nearest comparators: Patrick Hougaard 6.61, Jacob Thorsell 7.02 Crucially 2015 will be his first season as a senior rider - often the 'make or break' season for Polish prospects

SteveLyric2
Green eyed monster ;-) Not at all. MF's got his teams pencilled - subject to any bans and riders' GP preferences. Not forgetting any possible 'backtracking' at the AGM!! Edited November 2, 2014 by Skidder1

Let's hope they all have, after all they have been having pre conference meetings, for all I know they decided what 2015's average would be last year! INCOGNITO
Good signing in Wozniak but it is a gamble signing him without knowing the average or limits for next season but would think he has to be at least 5.00. Think Jason Doyle could be a bad move next season now he is in the GP's and a move for Hans Andersen or Kenneth Bjerre would be a better move.
weatherwatcher
From what I have seen of Wozniak's riding, from the few meeting that I saw him in Sweden on Eurosport, he is a very talented young rider. I personally think he will be a very good signing for the Lions for next year. As someone already said in a post earlier. The promoters already know what is going to happen at the AGM this year, as they have already sat down and made thier minds up what rules and regulations they will bring in next season. Just hope they don't make the usual hash of it as they normally do. A buch of 10 year olds could come up with some better ideas than the BPSA come up with, year in year out. All they do is try and cover thier own backs, with no thought of bringing speedway in a new era. It needs some radical ideas to bring it into the 21st century istead of being held back in the 1960's. It will not be just a matter of glossing things over to keep the ball rolling. They have got to re-think how the sport needs to be run to make it into a major sport not the bottom of the class it has now become. Looking forward to hearing who the other 6 or if DH gets his way 7 riders will be. It is no use people ion here guessing who they will be because I think that we will be in for some more suprises.

Not sure if this helps the debate about rider's averages but here is the appropriate extract from the 2014 Regulations:- 17.3 RIDERS MATCH AVERAGES (see SR 16.2 for Definitions) and GRADINGS 17.3.1 Riders new to Elite League racing are categorised as follows: Cat 1: Riders with an “end of the previous season’s published average” in the Polish Ekstraliga, the Swedish Elitserien or any other Professional Speedway League, or any Rider subject to a Certificate of Sponsorship Cat 2: Riders not riding in a Professional League (excluding those in Category 3) Cat 3: Commonwealth and USA (to a maximum of 4 each season) Riders new to British Speedway Cat 4: Riders who have been declared on the British Speedway Fast Track Development Programme (FTDP Riders) 17.3.2 The Assessed MA's for new Riders to the EL racing is: Cat 1 as per SR 17.3.3 Cat 2 4.00 Cat 3 3.00 Cat 4 as per SR 17.3.6 17.3.3 Category 1 Riders will be listed on a “Grading Riders List”, published annually at the end of each season showing an Assessed MA based upon results obtained in all other Professional Speedway Leagues during that season. That could easily change at the AGM and it should if the draft system and heat format continue. He should be at the very least a 5.5 rider perhaps a 6. So Milik in on a 4 was deemed to be Category 2 then because presumably he was not part of any professional league racing. Was this correct? Trees
The BSPA ought to talk to 10 year old kids to ask them what would make their experience better at speedway meetings. Edited November 3, 2014 by Trees
superguest
Sorry, good financial shape. This season was the best yet financially and attendance numbers. Take Note Robert) The FIM event was afinancial disaster witha loss of £7500 and DH will only accept another if it was right for the club. There is always Sundays when there isn't a GP. Sundays are a no go in the EL. The riders need to be in Poland on sundays. Running saturdays means riders have got to get to Poland. So Fridays may be your best bet. With GP weekends, run Thurs! magnificentseven
An Under 21 Polish rider and a Saturday night track is a recipe for disaster. It will almost certainly be spot the meeting he rides in. Wolfie
