Leicester Lions 2015

It is a shame that British speedway is no longer the top nation in the world, if we where we would be able to get the GP'S run on a Sunday. The Polish tracks would then have to change to a night that suited us and we would dictate to them if Polish riders wanted to ride over here without the being stopped by thier own local Polish clubs. Big dream but can't see us ever being top of the pile again.

Now on a very disturbing note, not sure if you have been looking on the Lions site or the Supporters club Facebook page but just read this, can only hope they find him or that he turns up safe and sound at home soon.

Chris Carey from Leicester. Chris has been mechanic to various riders over the past few years. Chris has been missing since the weekend. He didn't return home after a trip to see his friends and family in Kings Lynn.

His disappearance has been lodged with Leicestershire police anyone with any information should comment below or contact the police.

Nothing on the Lions site either to say that he has turned up. So yes it is very worrying for his family at this time, nothing worse than not knowing where they are or why they went missing in the first place, the human mind is such a frightening thing when it goes wrong.

A lot of clubs wouldn't have access to their stadium on consecutive nights.

Four example, Swindon hosts greyhounds on a Friday.

I think there will be a number teams with the same problem..my suggestion is based on this scenario and actually makes it easier to operate. i.e. Swindon could ride every Thursday and then would ride again the following night. Some clubs do have availability of both nights and their flexibility would be used to accomodate those less fortunate. The key factor is that Elite league operates on the same two consecutive nights each week rather than all clubs having to alternate.

It's Leicester end of season presentation this evening and understand those attending will the hear the first part of the team building for 2015. The news is very good for the club and the management have done well to get this deal done it will come as bit of a surprise to some . I am sure one of the Leicester regulars on here will post the details later this evening and you can all air their views.

Lions announce Polish 21 year old Szymon Wozniak as their first signing. He arrives on an assessed average, but website doesn't say what that average is.

Shock, Horror!! British EL Saturday track signs young Polish rider, before knowing the points limit, the assessed average or the fixture list!! How many meetings will he actually ride in???

Is this really a 'Norrie Allan' masterstroke or a touch of naivety at its worst??!
