Will Edinburgh And Glasgow Be Part Of British Speedway After Thursday?

Recommended Posts

OH DEAR!, OH DEAR,

Not only are about 50% of Scottish voters being Nationalistic, but speedway fans on here also doing the same with anti foreign tendancies, nearly everyone in the UK are decendants of foreign invaders, Angles, Romans, Saxons, Normans, Vikings etc etc. It seems that most speedway riders come from the same countries as those invaders, with the exception of those that come from our former penal colonies.

Question on the vote though, it is my impression that one side or the other win by say 50.01% against 49.99% then that decision stands. My understanding of changing constitutions, it must be by a qualified majority, usually about 65%. If i am correct if the Scottish Parliament wish to change any of it's Constitution then it must be by a qualified majority of 65%.

Just wondering

If Scotland decides to leave the UK on Thursday, what will happen to Edinburgh and Glasgow?

No longer part of Great Britain, they will not be eligible to be part of the British Speedway Promoters' Association, will therefore not be bound by the rules of British speedway and Scottish riders will be classed as 'foreigners'.

has anyone thought through the ramifications of all this?

well there are no scottish riders to be foreigners so no problem there .

Not wanting to get into this too much on here but the only way Scotland takes on part off the UK debt is if we continue to use Sterling that my friend is the tool the Scottish Government has in there locker no pound no debt.

Has it not struck you that if the Scots try to wriggle out of taking on their portion of the national debt their credit worthiness on the international money markets will be zero? They'll never be able to borrow money ever again and will be a bankrupt nation from day 1. I don't think that particular tool is going to work.
