orderly
If Scotland decide on a yes vote on Thursday it will take a very long time for independence to be declared if at all. When they realise that the Royal Navel Submarine Base will close together with other Army & Royal Air Force, with the loss of thousands of jobs, I believe that the North Sea oil rigs are British owned and are outside of territorial waters, they will not have any military force to defend their land, worst of all how will they feel when, as 25% of the United Kingdom, then they would be liable for 25% of the national debt, I can't see Mr Salmond getting a vast amount of support. Glasgow & Edinburgh Speedway's will be safe for may years to come.

Lots of hot air on here as usual!! Personally I like the idea of the status quo and stability of the union but then Im an Englishman far away in East Anglia so dont see the effects which prompt the Yes arguement in my daily life. Should the Scots decide 'Yes' them I think it best that we all look forward and work constructively to give all parties the best future. Back stabbing and oneupmanship will just mean we all end up worse off both financially and culturally.

Not wanting to get into this too much on here but the only way Scotland takes on part off the UK debt is if we continue to use Sterling that my friend is the tool the Scottish Government has in there locker no pound no debt. wealdstone
Just saw a woman on TV supporting Yes campaign, saying that it was not anti english . Whether or not economically or otherwise Salmond is right or wrong it seems to me the yes people are very self centered. Their motto seems to be were are better off on our own and sod the rest of you.

Tsunami
I think in this case it is a bit more serious than that. Nationalism, against the English and sod the consequences or any fact that shows their decision in bad light. I go with the "suffer the consequences on your own" school.
