A ORLOV
Something Garrity said last night was that he counted to three and let the clutch go, he was lucky not to break the tapes as I understand that once the ref presses the tapes up button there is a variable timer delay. This is to stop the riders getting used to how long the ref takes to let the tapes up after the green light has come on.

foreverblue
Newcastle Sky match was £5 and if you'd have been there Sunday you'd have got a paper insert for your July 18th programme (no idea how much they charged mind?). I assume you're having a dig at Rick Frost as per usual. Didn't know Frost was still in charge, why would i have a go at him, never have before. You were at Newcastle sunday when your own team were at home to rye house! Always think programmes are very expensive, 2 pounds is plenty enough, 2.50 just acceptable, 3 pounds unacceptable especially for premier league, most football top tier clubs only charge 3 quid and there is several times the amount of information in them compared to a normal speedway programme. TheScotsman
Well it was actually cheaper than Peterborough last night as adults were a tenner and kids free, shame Peterborough don't do these deals and the programme was 2.50 not 3 quid like it is at Peterborough and it was a programme not a paper insert in a old programme from months ago like the last time i was at Peterborough. I've only paid £3 once at Peterborough and that was for the bumper bundle on Sunday 24th August which also covered the double header on the 26th. The double headers on 2nd and 9th September were charged at £2.50.
mandy7162
Hansen what a twit if that was a Poole rider this forum would be in meltdown by now[/quote ] No it wouldn't so why put such a daft post!! YES it would have gone into meltdown and you know this is true. Edited September 16, 2014 by mandy7162
KevtheRev
Maybe luring Poole or King's Lynn to pick them in the play-offs rather than having to face Swindon which looked on the cards before the meeting. The track may well be different in the play-offs. I must admit that did cross my mind too. Give Poole the 4 points let them finish top and choose Coventry, only for the Bees to show their true colours and track.

Pirate Nick
Good night spent at Brandon last night in the company of Alan, Sandie and Silverbee. Lots of banter and the added bonus of a powder lolly from Sandie (haven't had one of those for years). Fairly decent meeting made a bit flat by Kyles big off on the 1st bend (hope he's not too bad). Good win for the Pirates, if unexpected, hopefully bodes well for the playoffs after the disappointment of losing our No 1. Thanks to Dakota North and Ritchie Lawson for their efforts. For the Pirates Josh, Good to see Josh back on the gas, although he must be knackered with the schedule he's had lately. 12 pts away from your 2nd string has to be good. Lawson. Struggled in his first 2 but a good max ht win with Josh in Ht8 put us ahead for the first time. Tough last 2 hts but beat Andersen in 13. North. Raced for a solid 9 points never gave up and some entertaining handbags with Hansen. Magic. What can you say? Outstanding! Never won a race at Brandon until last night. Showed Harris the way round on 3 occasions. Sterling performance. Benji. Still not quite there but is improving every week. Kyle. Another double figure score.2 5-1's with Josh and beat Garrity 3-1. The improvement in Kyle for Poole and Plymouth has been great this season and a lot of that is down to more fixtures with the FTD. For Coventry Andersen. Good Ht 1, tailed off after that. Lost points by riding the man and not the race IMO. Cost his team last night. Howarth. Hope he's ok after his off. Bees missed him Fricke. Not at all the Fricke I've seem in the PL, definitely an off night for him Hansen. Tried hard but a terrible performance. See North ref handbags! Harris. Solid but could have been better if he could have gated Garrity. Double figures. Is definitely benefiting from the experience. Sarjeant. Steady 6+2 won ht 14 beating Newman, North and Hansen another rider benefiting from the Fast Track Draft. All in all a good night. Onwards to the playoffs and may even finish top again. Always good to see Evil triumph, us Pirates are off back to Barad Dur now, more evil to be planned for the playoffs. Totally agree with what you say about Andersen, if he rode the track and not what was around him he would've got double figures last night. Frost is indeed still the chief without portfolio, with the indians running the show. What you were initially talking about is a result of those who so impressed you running last night's cracker which is why I assumed that you were reflecting on our days gone by with RF? And to clear up your Sunday confusion, here is the one of the deals Peterborough don't do! Edited September 16, 2014 by Crump99
BROCK
Wow that was a compete surprise I and many others never expected that, but as Horton said at the beginning of the meeting when questioned about Poole's problems "you can only ride against what is put in front of you" and Poole certainly were. The track was the best I have seen it for a long time, although I heard Bomber say in reply to a question from a Cov supporter just after the meeting, while on the steps by the pits that " if you prepare a slick track Coventry loose". So I expect it will be back to the ploughed field for the playoffs. Also thanks must go to Chris Holder for loaning Josh an engine. Well done all of the team. Well done Coventry on providing the slickest track ive seen at Brandon in a long time. Im sure the track will be oh so different in the play offs so that it suits the likes of Harris and Garrity and not just gaters like Janowski (who people need to remember was beaten and passed by Hansen. Yes he was trying to team ride but on that track had no answer on how to get back past). I think Coventry prepared the track that way for a reason. I do like the irony of a Poole fan calling another track a ploughed field!
E I Addio
Speaking purely as a neutral I really enjoyed it. Pity about Kyle Howarth getting hurt and I wish him well but realistically I doubt that his continued presence would have changed the result. To my mind it was a classic example of how a class performance by one rider (Magic ) can raise the whole team. Good show by North and Lawson, who seemed destined for no score but both got stuck in and scored vital points when it mattered. Hansen was the Bees weak link but I am astonished Hans didn't do much better. It's a lot easier to warm to Poole now we don't have to endure Shovlar's constant bilge but they are an attractive and entertaining side even though the TM is an horrendous character. it was probably the best Coventry track I have seen for almost as far back as I can remember.. For the first time in several years everything is up for grabs on the PO's. I have felt all season that Swindon could pull it off if they get their acts together, which they are now doing. Coventry can't be written off just yet. They are abetter side than last nights effort although Hansen may well be the let-down but now that Magic is leading from the front (in every sense of the word, Poole will always be a formidable side. Unfortunately it's all unravelling for KL at the wrong time with injuries to their top two. Pearson is going from bad to worse though
speedwaysliders
I have to say watching as a neutral at last nights meeting, how happy Magic looked in his role as captain, even after losing out on trying to team ride josh home, not only does he look happy,he seemed to enjoy helping the rest of the team out and working with Middlo.I found myself just watching him in the pits(sad i know!!) going about talking to the poole riders and taking the role as captain not just in name but actually wanting to the job.I think the Hancock magic as got into him .Even Josh who said he s not the best team rider, done exactly that in his next race and teamed rode with his partner. That must have been done to majics attitude in his race before when they came back to the pits, and majic wasnt angry at all. NOW I must stop watching riders in the pits, and watch a bit of sppeedway instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
