Norrie Or Mads

Recommended Posts

I feel sorry for Leicester . Despite paying top money , having respect for their riders , A team manager who is not only a lovely chap but shrewd and revered by all the riders he has taken money off over the years , the best racetrack in the country , the most friendly and knowledgable supporters . they still can't win matches . I think they should sack Mads , after all had he been there on Monday things would have been so much different for the Lions , I cant help feeling desperatlely sorry for the fans that he didn't turn up to such a crucial meeting . he must have known how important it was . and should have made a priority of it ,

Probably a warning to anyone planning to muck em about next year. If you aren't committed then don't sign. Is that not the EL though. The tail wags the dog.....?

Leicester should be begging not issuing Warnings . or it will be another cheap team made up of leftovers for 2015 , perennial losers with a reputuation like Leicesters dont get to issue warnings ,

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but if they have sacked him they have to use a PL/NL guest, as no facility will be available?

Nope, according to an email I've received from the club, they can cover using either a guest or R/R. Being as Leicester have sacked Mads themselves, a facility should not be available. Just when you thought speedway couldn't get any dafter in this country.

Leicester parted company with their team captain Mads Korneliussen yesterday. The Dane joined the Rapid Solicitors Lions from King’s Lynn in the winter and made twenty-eight appearances for the club. Korneliussen scored three points in his final match for Leicester against his former club at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium on Thursday and the Lions will cover for his absence in their last fixture of the season against the Poole Pirates with either a guest or rider replacement. The decision to sack Korneliussen stemmed from a crash he had in the home fixture against Swindon when he had to withdraw from the meeting following an injury resulting from a fall.

“Mads had to miss his last ride after that fall which was quite understandable and supported by the club. He then rode the next day for his Polish club, dropped out of our fixture on Monday at Belle Vue which meant that I had to cover for his absence with a Premier League guest. I was alerted to the fact that he then rode in Sweden on Tuesday and Denmark on Wednesday. It is never easy to part company with a rider especially when it is your captain who you look to set an example to the rest of the team but our good wishes go with Mads and I thank him for the part he has played at Leicester” said the Lions Team Manager Norrie Allan.

The only conclusion I can come up with is that Mads K has been deemed as witholding his services for the match against Belle Vue, so, retrespectively, Lions can use R/R or Guests to cover, in which case he'll be banned for 28 days and won't be able to guest for anyone.

If KL want him to guest that much. They will find a way

Leicester used a guest so there must have been a dr note.

All EL teams should follow this lead next year, if overseas riders come and sign for teams over here then they should, ride for thier team if missing races when it suits them they should be given the heave ho. We bow down and scrape to these overseas riders.

Doe's British speedway really need them, or can we do without them.

There are overseas riders that are dedicated to thier teams it is just the few that use British speedway to come over here and ride as they feel fit.

It has to stop. I hope that the AGM this year comes up with a ruling, that makes it plain to these riders that when this happens then they will not be welcome over here again.

Its a bit of a mess regarding the Mads situation, I think if he had not ridden in Poland on the sunday, or if he tried and it was not good, that he hadn't ridden for any team for the rest of the week then I do not think there would of been a problem. He said on local radio today that he was put under pressure to ride in Poland etc. I can understand why he did what he did, his teams in Europe going for play offs and the BV vs Lions was really a nothing meeting. Does not make it right, but understandable. I guess he had an idea that he would not be at Leicester next season? so looking after his long term interests came first I guess? Good luck to him in the future, have enjoyed watching him this season,

I just hope the Lions can put together a team next season that can be competitive.

Any other Swindon assets you want-:)

Assets mean absolutely nothing, self employed riders will ride where they want to.....the asset 'system' is all smoke and mirrors.

Still fascinated that one meeting missed that I can count in 10 years yet he's the villain!

This is the problem with speedway fans they don't live in the real world! Every other sport that's 'big' can pick and choose matches that players participate in. Injuries are part and parcel of our great sport and being able to ride all over the continent makes missing meetings a viable option if you can earn twice the money elsewhere in a track you can ride easily.

It just furthers the need for a squad system in the as I've heard it aptly named a few years ago the 'delete league' it would put paid to all these silly witch hunts that are sent out all too often

That is why Bates and Stead are missing every time Sheffield clash and we had no riders to protect when it came to 'picking' ummmmm !!!!
