tyretrax
Well the obvious answer is to run the season from February to November and extend the Play off teams to eight but will the BSPA listen to the fans....we will see next year. Maybe the season should just run all year by your reckoning.
Lord Lucan
Maybe the season should just run all year by your reckoning. Â Topaz is not actually that far short of being right anyway as it stands, season ends 31st October so we only need go back a cple of weeks and start at the beginning of March instead of the end and we're within his/her confines!!

shazza13
if you read the report in the news and star it states comets forced to scrap 2 meetings before the cut off date as they cannot run them before then. so these meetings will be run but no dates yet.
Mike.Butler
the play-offs should be scrapped. full-stop. Artificially ending the season early when at least 6 weeks remains as contingency for league matches, feels like we are entering an indian summer but some clubs are shutting up shop already. Â Or scrap the League Cup at the beginning of the season. Â 1 challenge match and straight into the PL matches, with the PLKOC interspersed within those PL fixtures. Then plenty of time to complete the PL fixtures before the Play-offs begin. Â I think they should make the play-offs the Top 4 teams with a straight knockout system 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd.
edmon
Re scrapping the Edinburgh fixture, I wonder what the Workington Promotion will do re the admission ticket for the original postponed fixture, which entitled visiting fans to a partial refund when restaged ? Â Can be used next year according to T's & C's in rule book.
bringbackHalifax
How about not letting any team not completing fixtures participate in the play offs

lucifer sam
 Or scrap the League Cup at the beginning of the season.  1 challenge match and straight into the PL matches, with the PLKOC interspersed within those PL fixtures. Plus August was exceptional this year, we're used to the British weather being awful, but not in that month.  All the best Rob Edited September 11, 2014 by lucifer sam
mikebv
Why when there is no 'TV pressure' (unlike in the EL) does the PL have to put the cut off so early? Â Seems barmy..... Â But then again, what's one more barmy decision. ?...
Arson fire
Where Edinburgh fined for not holding the final play off match a few year ago??..... Or was that a ' managment ' commitee decision

Plus August was exceptional this year, we're used to the British weather being awful, but not in that month.  All the best Rob  So, by cutting the fixture list by 3 (or 4) home meetings "that's not enough fixtures," yet Workington are running Double-headers weeks running and the likes of Somerset are running home meetings twice a week and Edinburgh are running a Double-header on Friday (12th) and are also running a home meeting on the Saturday (13th) to fit the fixtures in!  It's perfectly fine if we have a decent summer, but we hit the same problems year on year.  On another thread, some are calling for running home meetings once a fortnight (same night racing, which, by the way, won't work)!!  Another solution is, start the season a month later, still ending it back end of October, or start it 2 weeks later and end it two weeks earlier Edited September 11, 2014 by Steve Park
lucifer sam
Â Â but we hit the same problems year on year. Â Â And how about 2013, when there were less fixtures and several clubs finished their fixtures too early? Â Right number of fixtures this year. Just because Workington and Peterborough have call-offs thanks to missing pieces of medical equipment and highly mysterious "health & safety" issues, should not be allowed to take meaningful fixtures away from the other clubs.
