Jesus was born in a stable, but he never ran in the Derby. It's where your blood is from, not where you were born.

I was born in Bethnal Green, East London, within the sound of Bow Bells, proper Cockney, but I don't class myself as English as I have Greek blood from both parents

When it was worth having. Top league speedway is a joke now

Sorry mate your Nationality is where you were born, if your scenario were to be true, pretty well everyone in the UK would have a different nationality, as we are the result of constant invasion, and intermarriage. As for 'THE JESUS STORY', a I have enough in my head, without the need for the belief in an imaginary friend.

Adam McKinna was born in Crewe, try telling him he's English.

Jason Crump was born in Bristol..... The list goes on.

Have a look at his passport, Nationality is simple, IT IS WHERE YOU ARE BORN, if he was born in Crewe and both his parents were born in Scotland, but was registered at birth in Crewe, then he is English of Scottish parentage... You can claim whatever you like, does not make it a fact.

just like to remind all worky followers that newcastle are NOT our main rivals for the final 6th place. p/borro are. they have a home tie against rye and an away fixture at pltmouth , so by getting 4 points at plymouth they push us out of the play offs.

gut we still have to gain all home points available. to us.

FORGET NEWCASTLE, LOOK OUT FOR THE PUDDY CATS

So, if it turns out Worky miss out by being unable to stage their last two matches before the cut-off -- those would be the two meetings spoiled by the medical folks' problems, rather than the actual promotion?

There you go!

at this moment in time it looks like josh g is doing a joe screen for next year for somerset. really poor so far in recent meetings

can someone from somerset please come and teach josh how to ride a bike again. he has got his glasgow form back.

Poor show on the road again what has went wrong with our no 1 poor show again to night god help us if we make the play offs

And what about Somerset on Friday? :o

Disappointing result exacerbated again by another 5-1 loss in Ht15, just seems on the pure face of it that we have all but given up, we have absolutely no chance in the play offs riding like this away from home, dont know what is happening, why cant we get it together?

Only two pts behind Newky, 6 available v Sheffield at home so it looks like we dont give a toss about the away fixtures just getting them out of the way with minimal effort, hope that's coz we're saving it up as it's highly unlikely we'll drop all the pts on Saturday so we will probably be the sixth team and we really are gonna need to pull our finger out to avoid totally embarrassing ourselves!!

Never expected this scenario when we started, it all looked so promising!!

It would appear josh g is doctoring his average for next season if resent meetings are anything to go by.....

Workington as I predicted early season are a poor outfit.

Hope we retain Claus Vissing with maybe Jason Bunjan who should really give us some strength in Heats 2,7,11,14

The guys are human beings not bloody robots for gods sake  !! How many meetings have we had to get in , in these last few weeks. They don't just turn up , all the travelling too up and down the country too , riding with injuries it all takes it toll as its clear to see. Sadly it hasn't turned out the way we wanted but we still in there fighting so get behind the lads for once inseatd of slating !!!

English isn't a nationality according to the last census form.

I certainly don't count myself as English

I doubt the Comets or the Bandits will end up picking up the major honours this season , but I will believe til the very end

Berwick already have won some silverware this season, we won the Tweed/Tees Trophy earlier this season.

If we don't win anything else this season, that will be our major honour.

Same old, same old TJ, Comets were the architects of their own downfall by signing too many double up riders, these guys are professional mercenaries they ride for cash wherever they can so know the consequences of what might happen should something go pear shaped?

Injuries and weather go with the territory so you minimize the risks as much as you possibly can, spread yourself too thin and re arranged fixtures are going to be a huge issue to the best laid plans!!

These guy's know their limitations and if, as you suggest, they are not robots, then why take on so much extra work if they can't manage it? Personally, I would rather pay a bloke a better rate and keep him here rather than pay him a cost cutter and force him to look elsewhere for another income source, probably not viable but in a perfect world... who knows!!

I've been watching the Comets in all their guises since 1970 and nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see us lift a Championship Trophy, get the monkey off our backs, how long that will take depends on whether we make the right choices in future on who can deliver it? ;)

Everyone to their own , take on extra work probably like all of us , to make a decent living. These guys aren't going to hold off riding for two teams just incase there might be x amount of rain-offs forcing doubleheaders and days on end of meetings at the end of the season  . Its happened this season and we are where we are , the guys are knackered .So we'l agree to disagree :approve:
