Phil The Ace
The EL might not be what it was 15 years ago but I'd bet my house that every EL team would beat a PL team home and away Edited September 9, 2014 by Phil The Ace

moxey63
I am not concerned with which league is strongest. It says something that we're actually discussing it and getting heated, so their must be some doubt. Entertainment value should be for the standard of racing, commitment of riders and whether at the end of the match, you feel it was money's worth. Perhaps.. and this is one opinion, the PL is also entertaining because it contains more riders liable to make mistakes, whereas the top boys in the EL don't. weatherwatcher
Not sure what happened to the Bees last night. I think a MDL team could have done no worse. To say they where there last night to only make up the numbers was an understatement. Havlock was totaly embarsed by his teams performance. You only have to look at his choice for heat 15. Last night we saw a team of no hoppers Come on Bees pull your socks up..

Not sure was "totaly embarsed" means - I recognise the "arsed" bit
orion
Hardly the same. Elite League is meant to be the pinnacle of our sport in the UK and it suggests a league full of the best and most elite riders in our sport from numbers 1-5. I don't think the present Elite League matches that latter description. Or rather your poor attempt to debate my point. Rather than prove to me that the Elite League is in fact Elite... which you can't! you deflect to the Premier League. Poor show chaps, poor show. When does it say that ? we have been over this time and time again when any league like ice hockey uses the name Elite all it means it's the top division nothing more nothing less ..does the Elite League in Ice hockey have all the world greats in it ? I think not . Even in Football the Premier League name as it's the top league in the uk does not have Bale , Messi Jimmy etc in it . Or maybe they play in the Scottish Premier league ? I could go on and on . Unless there is another league in the uk that has better sides in it then it have already been proved it's the Elite . Gavan
There are seriously some issues with some people on here! Why is there a discussion? My team (Ipswich) have been in both. I much preferrred the racing in the late 80's early nineties to what i saw in the 2000's and even now. However give me premier league racing over elite league any day of the week. My opinion is i get to see better racing then i did 5 or 6 years ago. The Elite league is the top league as it has the better riders. Those trying to say the Premier has better riders are talking out of their backsides. Yes the Elite league isnt what it was 10 or 15 years ago but it is still the best riders. I still enjoy my speedway at Ipswich far more than i would if we were in the Elite League though. Different teams to watch and good racing most of the time.
van wolfswinkel
A few top PL sides couldn't have done any worse than Cov last night. Never seen Bomber so poor. The Robins showed their intention from heat 1 and totally blitzed them. Pretty good atmosphere among the fans, probably about 1200 there.
TesarRacing
I thought Max Fricke came across quite well when interviewed - seems like a nice lad! He seemed quite nervous - a nice trait in an Aussie for a change!!
