Joseq7
In a word No was pulling wheelies today half a lap behind i am sure Stewart would have been delighted with that. Stewart needs to rip him a new one, but then again...... Who was responsible for signing this joker?
Gazc
Is Palovaara going to do enough meetings to get a new average this season? We are past caring what Palovarra does or more to the point doesn't do even on gaining a new 3 point average because you cannot get any lower or he would he would still be a waste off team building point's. Lord Lucan
Poor result!!! Just proves my point from yesterday, Comets reliable at home ... away, "unreliable"? Â Might just about hang on to sixth place for the play offs but basically on the premise of being the best of the worst left over from the top five, not good enough really to trouble the judge, unless our away form improves dramatically we are just making the season longer when most people now are of the feeling that they'd just prefer to see it end and start afresh next year? Â Only one race winner in the team this afternoon at a track we nearly always go well on say's it all, not good enough, again just looks like the usual, our top guys dont put it all in and the remainder not on the premises to make up the shortfall, the difference between a winning team and an also ran? Â Few more away matches scattered about this week and I dont really see any points from any of them so confirmation of a top six spot may have to wait til Saturday's dble header with Sheff, and we will shift them coz "we're at home" what happens after is another matter!! fred
Â Glasgow Tigers = 52 Â 1. Victor Palovaara - 0, 0, 0 = 0 2. Theo Pijper - 1, 3, 3, 3 = 10 3. Kevin Wolbert - 3, 3, 3, 3, 2 = 14 4. Tero Aarnio - 1, 0, 2', 1 = 4+1 5. Rusty Harrison - 3, 3, 1, 3, 1 = 11 6. Kasper Lykke Nielsen - 3, 2', F, 2', X, 1, 3 = 11+2 7. Rafael Konopka (G) - 2', 0, 0 = 2+1 Â Â Workington Comets = 41 Â 1. Josh Grajczonek - 3, 2, 6^, 2, 3 = 16 2. Ricky Wells - 2', 1', 2, 2', 0 = 7+3 3. Rene Bach - 2, 1', Fx, 2 = 5+1 4. Mason Campton - 0, 2, 1, 2 = 5 5. Kyle Howarth - 1, 2, 0, 1' = 4+1 6. Joe Jacobs - 1, 1', 1, 0, 0 = 3 7. Simon Lambert - 0, 0, 1' = 1+1 Â Â Â Read more: http://www.speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/13875/glasgow-workington-pl-14-3pm#ixzz3Ce9QrURD Â So despite riding with only six scoring riders, Glasgow pull off a great win. Surely Kevin Wolbert must be riding himself into next years Tigers team. Â On the average he's on maybe he will be wanted somewhere else next season. Lioness
On paper, Comets should be well in control of this league but hey its not raced on paper. Good result for Tigers today and please never ever teach Kasper Lykke how to gate. Watching him come from behind on a racers track is the type of thing to being anyone back through the gates. Mason Campton must have thought it was in the back as he went into the final lap of heat 14 well up...... Kasper strikes again! Rusty was so far ahead in one heat he could have marked his programme before second came in.For the Comets, Josh is still class on and off track. Ricky Wells tried hard to back him up but for me Howarth Jacobs and Lambert were all disappointing (in fairness Joe did look as if he was struggling before the meeting) Â An okay afternoon's speedway made even better by a surprise visit from the lovely Bluejam - here's hoping next season you are back shouting on your own team - and I'll even bring the scotch pies
cyclone
Sounds like Palovaara is working his ticket and will be deemed withholding his services henceforth, with r/r for him till the end of the season, which will strengthen the Tigers hand, given that Pjiper, Harrison, Wolbert, & Lykke can cover his programmed rides
MD
Is Palovaara going to do enough meetings to get a new average this season?  He should get an average next week after visiting Peterborough on Tuesday and Edinburgh on Friday assuming it is 4 home and 4 away, I don't keep up with the annual changes. If that's the case he will be on 3.00 down at reserve, pushing Berge back into the main body with presumably r/r. According to todays programme Palovaara is currently averaging 2.53. Kevin would be the first name on my team sheet for next year. On the average he's on now he's a total steal. Close behind him would be Kasper, some amazing overtakes from him today.  I've changed my opinion on Wolbert as the season has progressed from binning him to keeping him for next season. We've taken the hit for him dropping a whopping 2.5 points off his starting average and he represents excellent value on his current average of 5.86. However his parent club will also be blissfully aware of this.  I would definitely keep Kasper, he has to be the find of the last 3 seasons for us, joining us as a last minute replacement for Ringwood when no-one wanted him, he has grown in stature the last few months and is starting to hold his own against decent riders. He has shown confidence to come off the inside line and can create phenomenal speed on the bends, his stalking and pass on the outside of Campton in ht14 was superb. Hopefully for the remainder of this season he can stay at reserve. I would also have Rusty back for 2015. No points on the road again we win at home we lose away not good enought even if we make the play offs  Worky were poor compared to the same side that turned us over earlier in the season with their middle order of Bach, Campton and Howarth the prime culprits. Bach often rides Ashfield better than the home riders but wasn't on it today though he had a heavy fall in his third ride. Howarth was poor, ditto Lambert and Jacobs looked jaded compared to when he was here with PB. Campton wasn't great either and there is a sense of satisfaction in that when riders return to Ashfield having left to go somewhere better in their opinion, they are pish! Paulco
Fred is speechless as well . I'm quite sure it was some anti -Glasgow nonsense he was struggling to get out , but failed miserably Ah well I'm sure the riders will get paid next season by thr new owner and enjoy their monday night racing ;-) You keep coming out with this stuff . Have you any solid evidence to suggest Glasgow riders aren't being paid , or are you just taking the terrace tittle tattle over at Overtaking Nirvana on a Friday night as gospel ? Please elaborate cause we'd all like to know

Lord Lucan
Howarth career has really stalled for some reason, though he would have made the breakthrough after seeing him progress last season  Yes, too many niggling injuries this time round has done him no favours, on a similar theme the same could be said of Ashley Morris, no progress from him, didn't help his or our cause this year either?  Don't understand the Workington lineup also. Howarth has been struggling for a while now yet they put the lad at 5 and leave Wells at the easier number 2.  Was done to help Ricky Wells, he too was struggling there so a change of position was to benefit him which does seem to have started to pay off!! If we got £10 grand for Campton give it to Uncle Len for Kasper.  If "we" got £10k for Campton I'd keep it!!   Howarth was struggling at 2 as well. He has improved lately, especially at home .  Agree with you on the home form he has certainly improved over the last few weeks in my mind caused by the fact that he doesn't fight his bike all the time like he used to, much more fluid now and it shows, definitely has speed to burn at DP, shame, like several other's, he's not transferring it to the away tracks?
