Workington V Glasgow 06/09/14 18:30 Hrs (pl)

Recommended Posts

Wont see this match either, but confidently predict a 10pt win, (positive again) :D agree Jenga, different story this time at the basement, Lambo not quite at where he was before the injury but he and JJ should run up a few more pts than last time which should see us through OK, 50-40!! ;)

Massive saving to the Promoters, 13 and 15 are normally two of the most expensive heats to run.

the way the 3-3 heat draws were reeled off it maybe pre concieved...is it legal though?? And it gives worky an unfair advantage...harsh I know, but surely we can't make it u as we go along.... Can we?? Lol Edited by Arson fire

Course they can, this is speedway. Shame for the fans who forked out for 30 heats of speedway mind but hopefully the injured riders are ok

How the hell can you abandon a meeting to fit another one in??.... That can't be right??..This sport is staggeringly staggering lol

Has been done before, and where there are time curfews and the result of the first match is already decided, seems sensible.

Or would you prefer that the second match is undecided because of being unable to complete before curfew ?

To be fair to Worky, the long delays because of requiring the County Ambulance, and then an Air Ambulance, was outwith their control.

Would be interested to know when its been done before maybe you could tell us Cyclone.

Clearly against the rules

Taken from 14.9.1

"In the event a Referee abandons a Meeting, no further racing, practicing or use of
the track is permitted."

not blaming anyone and understand the time restrictions.... the track was fine, there should be no reason not to complete a match, it's wrong IMO and shouldn't be allowed, just to benefit the home side because they are chasing points before the cut off....

Yes the meeting was decided, but is that really the point??.... Had Glasgow been a point up, there's no way it would have been abandoned, end of.

I recall it has happened a few years ago, so if you care to examine historical records, you should find it

As there were two separate meetings tonight,it would appear the licensed official's interpretation of the rules differs from yours.

I would imagine that a qualified ref would be more au fait with the application of the rulebook, than someone who merely has a copy of the rulebook, but no current practical experience of how to apply them :P

You say there were two separate meetings. I assume that the fans left after the first and paid to enter the stadium for the second meeting ;) .

Prove it by checking the records for the past five years to confirm one way or the other :D

Why do you assume this would be necessary ?
