screm
Seems not to much interest in this thread, though thanks to the in depth and informative post1, there isn't much else to add. Forecast is decent for tomorrow, we are forecast to have some rain during the night, its raining now, that rain will move southwards and should be gone by morning. Saturday will be dry, maybe just a chance of a shower in early evening, but its all looking good for a good meeting tomorrow night.

topsoil
Expect a tough meeting here, I reckon Scunthorpe are solid all the way through, with the potential ace Ashley Birks at reserve. Good choice of reserve in Hugh Skidmore after last weeks performance. Hopefully Matej keeps up his good run of form and Matty can hit the ground running at reserve. Should be a cracking meeting.
screm
Scunthorpe have been in decent form of late, form that has seen them all but guarantee a play-off place, but I think Berwick will want to bounce back after last nights efforts at Somerset. My only worry is, I am not sure if Matty Wethers is fit enough yet, if not able to use him up to 7 times in the playoffs could be the teams weak point not it's strength. I hope I am totally wrong. lucifer sam
Interesting to see if the Scorpions can go well around Berwick tonight. Also interesting to see if Berwick take up the Ice Bucket challenge, as issued by Scunthorpe last night: http://scunthorpescorpions.co/?p=1897 All the best Rob

So often I have seen the ice bucket challenge just to make someone look a bit stupid with no benefit to what it was created for.
topsoil
Berwick got away with one tonight. Scunthorpe were heading for a 5-1 in heat 14 until Ashley Birks packed up, causing a very nasty looking accident with Steen. Thankfully both seemed okay. Then in the re-run John Auty taking a bad fall after completing the race minus a steel shoe. Auty would have been a probable for heat 15 and was looking good. Matej Kus proved the match winner driving inside the excellent David Howe in heat 15. Just glad to pick up a win of any sorts tonighht. One or two riders a bit under par and a solid opposition.
Robinh88
I'd say tonight was a wake up call But I think we have found our level Cannon fodder on the play off battelfied Could we make a signing maybe?

bigeddiechek
Matej Kus once again getting a vital 3rd in heat 15. Did it from reserve early in the season, now from his new heat leader position. Great move on David Howe up the inside of the 4th bend. Who says there is only 1 line at Berwick? Not in Matej Kus's book!
screm
Decent meeting last night and Scunthorpe can feel a tad unfortunate they didn't get more out of the meeting as they lost firstly Birks and then Auty, both of whom would've come in for consideration for Ht15, also they provided more race winners than the home side that said Douglas did win Ht15. David Howe was excellent for the visitors. Bellego, Edberg and Jensen all had poorish nights, hopefully they are getting their duff meetings out of the way before play-off time, though it was good to see Jensen walk away from a nasty looking fall with Birks at the start of Ht14. June
Well done SCORPIONS on gaining a point out of this match. A little luck and I think you could have come away with a draw or even a win! At this stage even the 1pt gladly recieved.

What is the difference from passing as a reserve and passing as a Heat Leader position?david Howe was the Scunthorpe reserve until the averages changed.Good pass though at a vital time.

Not at meeting but maybe it like swings and roundabouts. Berwick seemed to be at their peak in late July area but maybe have gone off boil a little? Scunthorpe, as they did when they won title are looking as if they hitting form at right time
Paulco
Wouldn't it be absolutely fantastic if after a season of The Smugs and Somerset looking to have it between them , Berwick or Scunthorpe could spoil things and come through to be champions

Young Perry at reserve could be a weak link but if they can get him chipping in with a few points Scunthorpe could be a team to be avoided in the play-offs.
