Guest
Each to their own tastes but I`m finding the criticism of Nigel Pearson boring and out of order, speedway should be grateful we have someone within the media that can promote the sport, which I`m sure he does. But surely that's "part of the fun!" on the BSF? Always find someone to knock - Nigel Pearson, Chris Harris - and others all spring to mind. OveFundinFan
Tend to agree with those that say not good racing, overall it was'nt.... but the occassion has to be taken into account, and that what made it a good meeting. Sure there was overtaking and some close finishes but it was the fact it was a gp that made the meeting palatable.
SCB
Nicki was in the thick of the action, usually being overtaken, which wasnt boring at all.  The Hancock 'love in' is due to him being on the verge of becoming world champion. It's a pattern you don't seem to have noticed..  The top riders will get talked about the most, for good reason. Agreed. I loved watching Nicki being picked off  As for Greg, the love in is a bit sickly but credit to him, he rode well. When he missed the start in the one heat he rode a sensible, conservative heat and ended up in 2nd (passing Nicki P in fact). Yet when Woffy found himself at the back he seemed to go into panic mode and throw the bike here, there and everywhere. Had he rode sensible, conservative inner half of the track I believe he'd have scored a couple more. I think he could have passed Greg if he'd been a little less hasty too.  For once, Gregs "boring" was actually far more effective and better to watch than guns blazing of Tai and KK who either failed to go forwards or in some cases, go backwards. Its them things that make a World Champion.

It's a pattern you don't seem to have noticed.. And the excuse for the rest of the season? The love in with Hancock was not unique to Saturday. Â As the night went on, the focus should have been the rider who was racing to a 21 pointer. Each to their own tastes but I`m finding the criticism of Nigel Pearson boring and out of order, speedway should be grateful we have someone within the media that can promote the sport, which I`m sure he does. His primary job is to commentate clearly and impartially, not promote.

Ah the rest of the season.. well strangely he's been contending at the top of the standings the whole season too..  Last season folk were moaning it was a Woffy love-in.  As for Hampel he was given more than adequate praise, it's just that some of you decide not to hear it and only focus on your agendas. There was a lot of praise of Hampel's brilliant performance and comments of how you couldn't predict it etc.  As for the 'focus'. With one round to go in the World Championship, the main focus, quite rightly is on the race for being World Champion rather than the individual GP. Guest
I will add mine too Pugwash! It's sad Ray Stadia that this sort of thing happens. But it doubtless gives the perpetrators satisfaction to do this. I notice in BSF Posts elsewhere that an anti-Greg Hancock theme is now developing...! J_D
It could be the case of doing what is easy for BSI which is to select the 9th,10th, 11th finishing riders. That should tick sufficient boxes based on nationalities.
topaz325
My first GP abroad in Stockholm and really enjoyed the weekend, ok the racing was not that good but i was inmpressed with the Freinds arena, no security searches ( ) clean, plenty of bars in the stadium and the track held up well. I estimated a crowd of 15-20k so the official figure of 16k would be about right. Six pounds for a bottle of Falcon beer in the Arena was not too bad but later got a ready poured beer that was foul!! Â Stockholm was a lovely city to explore and would really have liked more time to look around but there you go.

Fromafar
Mr Rising needs to keep Bert Harkins of the "sherbets" before he does his column in the the Star, this week he states Peter Waite was helping exBandit Martin Smolinski in the pits, did Smolinski ever ride for Berwick ,IMO No.
