Ghostwalker
Where in GB do you live? What are your budget for flights and hotels? There are several airlines flying from various cities in GB, IIRC; SAS, BA from LHR to Arlanda. Norwergian from LGW to Arlanda. Ryanair from STN to Västerås or Nyköping (both about 100km from Stockholm) SAS also flies direct from: Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol (summers only) & Birmingham to Arlanda, Edited September 2, 2014 by Ghostwalker

madame muck
Last year we flew Norwegian airlines, gatwick to arlanda. Then got the arlanda express train right into Stockholm centre, very easy and people really helpful. Then our hotel was walking distance from the train station. Lovely city, but pricey, but knew this when we decided to go.
Ghostwalker
Thanks Ghostmaster a great weekly thread,i wondered if you could help me?On the 27th the day of the Swedish GP could i make it from watching a f ooty match in Eskilstuna at 3pm time and make it to the GP in time iif so how.? Even if you rented a car, it would be a minimum of an hour and half driving time plus time needed to find a parking at Friends arena (very difficult) then the time need to get from where you parked the car to the arena. By public transport there is an organized bus trip which leaves at 4p from the bus station. Train+commuter train won't bring until 8påm at the earliest. Ghostwalker
Just like last year there will an open meeting called Hammarby open at Gubbängen the day before the GP. See this post for info on how to get there: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=67537&page=36&&do=findComment&comment=2336263 Transport info for the GP arena: http://friendsarena.se/gastservice/Hitta-hit/Finding-your-way-to-Friends-Arena/ SOme chamges for those who arrive by commuter train this year: There is a new overpass/exit called Norra uppgången/Målbron.that have been built (nr 3 on the map): https://www.solna.se/Global/Nyhetsrelaterade/arenastaden%20siffror%20stor.JPG https://www.solna.se/sv/om-solna/nyheter-om-solna/ny-uppgang-mot-friends-arena-oppnas/ This means you don't have to walk as far to get around the rails since you now can walk straight over them. severnsider
MJJ is replacing NKI but has anyone heard who will be the replacement for Darcy, assuming he is still suspended for the rest of this week.
f-s-p
MJJ is replacing NKI but has anyone heard who will be the replacement for Darcy, assuming he is still suspended for the rest of this week. MJJ is replacing Ward for now. If Ward comes back, MJJ will start to cover for Iversen. He's the the only substitute at this moment. For Iversen, BSI/SGP commission can pick anyone they like since they have the right to do it according to the rules.

PHILIPRISING
MJJ is actually replacing Iversen ... Kim Nilsson replaces Ward assuming (and this is not as mad as it might sound!) Ward is still suspended
SCB
Kim Nilsson? :/ Surely should have got someone like Vaculik, Laguta or Sayfutdinov in. Or Kildemand with the form hes shown in previous GPs

Ward is still suspendedI realise this is going beyond pedantic, but MJJ was already in Gorzow for Ward. Thats where NKI got hurt. Still, I do need to keep track on whats going on. PHILIPRISING
WHEN compiling the programme for Stockholm was told that as Ward was only suspended and could conceivably still ride if his ban was lifted, MJJ was in fact replacing the injured Iversen. When the programme went to press we still weren't able to include Kim Nilsson as the replacement for Ward although we knew it would be him. MJJ will continue to replace Iversen in Torun and a substitute for Ward, should one be required, will be named later and most likely be a Polish rider. iris123
On the one side i can see that BSI wouldn't want to stick someone in that at this stage might upset the apple cart as it were and get in amongst the top scorers during the important race for the title. But it does seem a poor choice and robs the paying public of seeing one of the top contenders for a wild card place.Any of the riders listed by scb would be far better than Nilsson .Obviously the newly crowned Euro champ coming in and beating the soon to be crowned world champ would be a bit of an embarrasment that i can understand they would want to avoid Edited September 23, 2014 by iris123
