Swindon V Wolves Thursday 4th Sept

I went. Had a nice evening. Sat under the night sky, watched some racing. My son was buzzing because Troy Bachelor waved at him.

Crowd wasn't great, although I've seen worse.

Enjoyed it though. Sorry.

I need to apologise too then because I enjoyed it as well. Big win but not quite the massacre predicted. Some decent racing and the Wolves select full value.

I thought the attendance was pretty good considering.

Also went. Good heat 15 and Kildemand coming from last to second were the highlights. A bit too much from the gate unless in gate 2. Pity Killer wasn't made to start from there all night. But he looks back on form.

Yeah. Heat 15 was a good race. Well done Rosco putting out Gustafsson and Morris rather than Kildemand and Bachelor.

It may have stopped is getting 60 but meant a closely matched finale.

I also went and despite there only being two or three good races it was worth it. Wolves did slightly better than I expected and only Cam and Timo performed for the team.

There were more fans there than I expected.

Roll on Monday when we beat Coventry.

thank god for the P.L. and the N.L.

You obviously don't follow the NL very closely. Probably a bigger joke than the EL, numerous guests for most clubs last weekend. Nowhere near enough riders to go around.

2 ways to sort out this mess. 1, different nights for different leagues, 2, hope the fairy at the bottom of the garden can magic 20-30 new riders from somewhere. As neither of them are going to happen, our only hope for consistent teams in a sensible league structure is to lose a few tracks. Not nice, but our only hope.

the 15 year old singer/guitarist was excellent and was well received I thought given the normal apathy towards this type of thing. The sound system was excellent. Well done to her and whoever booked her.

Yeah. nice touch that, and she was quite good. It's a great idea putting entertainment like that on in the interval. It makes it so much more of an evening than just everything stopping for 15 minutes while a tractor goes round, so well done Swindon.

And well done for putting her on the greyhound track in front of the Grandstand too, rather than just sticking her out of sight on the centre green.

This is something their clubs should follow suit on if they don't already. I'm sure every track has local performers who would be glad of the opportunity to play in front of a speedway crowd.

Last time I was there they had a young Johnny Cash wanna be. Thought he was pleasant to listen to.

The danger (and I have witnessed this elsewhere) is you get the promoter's niece doing cat screaching karaoke.

Agreed, like it or not there are too many tracks and not enough riders. What's the point in either Birmingham or Milton Keynes coming back next season when it's likely to make the problem worse.

For me last nights Wolves team was a new watermark in the wrong direction. From a business perspective the promoters appear to have so little regard for paying customers it's exasperating to witness.

Never gonna happen but the sport needs some people who actually know what they are doing,

Feel sorry for anybody that attended last night.

Aw, thanks mate.

There's no need though. I went and I had a good enough time. As did others on here who were actually there.

But thanks again. It's very nice of you.

Totally agree grachan ! I was there and glad I went, nice warm evening, good atmosphere and all the Robins giving 100%. If they ride like that on Monday then look out Coventry. :t:

Speedway is truly done for when a team turns up with 5 guests and rider replacement for someone they just sacked. :(

I feel sorry for any Wolves fans who turned up to support their team and discovered it was their fast track rider.

I thought speedway was bonkers when I followed my team but this is simply insane :)
