Yee haa! Can't wait. Just as well it's not next week as I'm not around.

Be a couple more weeks until you enjoy my company again then, as I'm not there tonight but am next week!

Matt Wethers always scores a shedload at our place, so should score masses down at reserve.

Somerset have been in invincible form at home, so I`m not expecting anything from tonight. The one positive from a Berwick view is the return of Whethers, interesting to see how he gets on, he must be fit enough to take extra rides IMO.

Who is Whethers?

standard quote

No surprise

Somerset playing a crafty old game. Bandits dominating early on, so the Rebels didn't put a drop of water on the track throughout the meeting, turning it into a dust bowl, which suited the home side.

That Nick Morris, what a dirty bastard

Before the meeting I would have thought 34 points would be about par at Somerset, but after the start we got and leading after heat 7 I'm a bit disappointed at the capitulation that followed. But I suppose it also shows how strong Somerset are at home, even without Brady Kurtz, who has had a hell of a debut season. Going to take a good team to stop them.

Still my favourite away track and a hell of a way to kick off the Cardiff weekend.

It is what is known as a professional foul Shadders. You doctor the track (more so when you are getting humped early on) to suit your own lot. The last nine heats prove that, otherwise how can a team go from 22-14 to lose next ones 12-42!! It happens all over of course and you cannot blame a home team.

There was a lot of track work and the surface wasn't watered but it didn't turn into a dust bowl .I certainly didn't get the impression that there was any fixing going on.

What changed was that Rebels started gating.

In fact, I thought it was the usual good quality Somerset meeting.

One interesting point : programmes were half price because it was an old one with an insert and Debbie Hancock took the trouble to explain why in the insert notes.

All credit to her not only for reducing the price but taking the time to say why.

Are you listening Belle Vue, Glasgow & Edinburgh (amongst others) ?

And that wont be easy against the PL form team! Berwick's hopes of a top two finish evaporated in the last 9 races at Somerset.

To be honest Berwick`s hopes of ever finishing top two were slim at best, now they have a job on to finish third though if Berwick had been offered 4th place at the start of the season they would've taken that.

All the home teams prepare the track to the liking of their team, riders constantly refer to it on TV interviews. The almost unique thing with the OTA is most riders enjoy riding there, you will not find many of them slagging it off. Jason Crump no less described it as " a very cool track" and Leigh Adams created a track record there in his only appearance which has stood for some 10 years.

It was fairly obvious from Statto`s excellent reports that the Rebels were not getting out of the traps early on which as we all know is extra important at the start of most meetings. As soon as the Rebels became competitive in this area it was " goodnight Vienna".

Starting a match without your most potent pairing in Brady and Pontus against the fourth placed team was also a bit worrying but what a great shout by Gary (again) to bring in Rasmus Jensen.

It will be a wonderful achievement if the Rebels manage to finish top of the pile again considering we made 5 changes to the all conquering 2013 line up..............one wonders where Somerset would be now if Jason Doyle was still wearing the No 1 race jacket.
