Ghostwalker
I don't understand why the Russians have so much trouble with visa's I got a Russian visa dead easy when I was there in August. This have been discussed several times before (do a forum search for it) and it it has nothing to do with nationality itself but rather that a relative (either their father or uncle) of the Laguta brothers had done something criminal in the past and this means that the entire family is black listed in the UK. Woz01
With regards naming 3 replacements should injuries come up, I wonder if they will pick 3 younger guys to see how they get on in the series.
DutchGrasstrack
Think they'll pick Kildemand, Piotr Pawlicki and Smoli... We'll see today I guess.

Ghostwalker
That is certainly what the forum speculation was, but there was no hard evidence offered. Niamh Sure, I agree, however since it affects just them and for several years time, the explanation is likely to be something like what have been mention and not that they just have been late with the visa applications. Bradford Ace
What exactly at world level has Sundstrom done to warrant that?? Absolutely nothing whatsoever that I can think of??
stratton
What exactly at world level has Sundstrom done to warrant that?? Absolutely nothing whatsoever that I can think of?? Nothing at all to be honest, this GP series should be fairer only the best 16 riders should be in it we all know this is not the case. The old one off final was not always the best riders what is the excuse in this day and age.? nothing really. iris123
Tbh the Euro Championship will probably have the more exciting line-up.Really can't work up any enthusiasm for this lot My opinion of course, but i am not sure there has ever been a blander line-up for a world title challenge..... norbold
Both THJ and Linus Sundstrom are commercial picks and very little to do with finding the top 15 riders in the world to contest the World Championship.

I'd agree, but there is very little to get out of those two. Both Sweden and BSI have the problem that they don't really have any good talent. If you just go for cynical commercialism then Antonio being black is i'd guess more newsworthy/commercial

The same as Harris for a whole bunch of years, how many of you complained back then that he wasn't top 15 in the world? Besides how many of 2015's Gp riders are truly top 15 in the world and how do you decide which riders are top 15 in the world? Of next years 15 riders, I'd say nr 1-8+ Iversen. Batchelor isn't that much better if any better at all then THJ tbh.

It isn't just them that have had this problem, though. Alex Loktaev has had similar problems when it comes to racing in the UK in recent years. People have been complaining all the time about Bomber being picked. In fact many people have been complaining about him even this year when he's actually qualified. Mine was not an anti-Swede comment in favour of Brits. It's the Poles and the Danes who have missed out.
PHILIPRISING
SPEEDWAY in general and the SGP in particular needs the likes of the Pawlicki brothers, Zmarzlik, Kildemand, Fricke, Berntzon and (hopefully) Dudek to one day graduate to the highest level to fill the void that will naturally occur in the not too distant future... and for both Ward and Sayfutdinov to resume their own GP careers

Sundström has been the next big swede to step up almost as long as we have waited AJ to step up for TRick. Surprise pick IMO. Actually, not as long. Still a surprise. Surely of the current field only greg and nicki are potentially approaching retirement? Those spots will be taken by emil and darcy, and thr young poles and others hopefully progress and replace the weaker riders in the field. Sundström has been the next big swede to step up almost as long as we have waited AJ to step up for TRick. Surprise pick IMO. Actually, not as long. Still a surprise. Very surprise pick and you are right,.....not as long. After AJ we had Davidsson who failed,Aldén then there was that kid who was one of a big family of brothers/cousins who i can't remember what they were called, then Mellgren who was being looked after by TRick and Forsberg and and and.... Shame really as the speedway world is shrinking and becoming mainly a Poland/Denmark/Australia thing with the odd rider from one or two other countries.Once the last of the mohicans(the golden generation) retires i can't see anyone coming along to take Gregs place. But more worrying for me is the absolute lack of characters and exciting riders there or thereabouts.Once Nicki goes then maybe Kildemand replaces him Ward and Emil back in,but the speedway world is much of a muchness.Smoli isn't a great rider, but at least he is a bit of a character who rubs people up the wrong way Forgot one of my own tips.....Dennis Andersson, who looked shabby in his beige overalls at the 80cc world champs, but i think i said on here at the time was unpredictable, but very fast
