Ghostwalker
Freddie Lindgren confirms that he will not be in the 2015 Grand Prix series. He says that he will decline if offered a season-permanent wild card and that he wants to be higher up in the standings because otherwise there is no point with it. http://www.racemagazine.se/speedway/lindgren-lagger-ned-vm-satsning/
PHILIPRISING
Bye, bye genuine world championship. Hello invitational event. Rob WHY? We are only talking about a rider (s) coming in temporarily to replace an injured rider for one or more meetings, as occurred at the end of this season. If anyone pulls out, such as Gollob and Sayfutdinov this year, then we're not just talking about temporary replacements for one or two meetings, are we? Will any reserves for the WHOLE series (e.g. in the way Chris Harris and Troy Batchelor were for this year) come from the GP challenge or be selected by BSI/FIM? All the best Rob
Fromafar
USA Greg Hancock - World Champion POLAND Krzysztof Kasprzak - World #2 Jaroslaw Hampel - World #8 Maciej Janowski - Qualifier Piotr Pawlicki - WILD CARD / Qualifier / World U21 Champion DENMARK Nicki Pedersen - World #3 Niels K Iversen - WILD CARD Peter Kildemand - WILD CARD SWEDEN Andreas Jonsson - World #6 Thomas H Jonasson - WILD CARD / Qualifier AUSTRALIA Chris Holder - World #7 Jason Doyle - Qualifier GREAT BRITAIN Tai Woffinden - World #4 Chris Harris - Qualifier SLOVENIA Matej Zagar - World #5 ITALY Nicolas Covatti - first reserve in 2015 Michael Jepsen Jensen and Bartosz Zmarzlik would be unlucky not to be picked but time is on their side and the four named above are worthy of a place in the Series Is that the line up or just your choice of riders?genuine question. PHILIPRISING
ONCE the 15 permanent riders have been officially named (probably later today) any subsequent replacements will be chosen by the FIM SGP Commission in association with BSI and not promoted from the 2014 Challenge. He's improved over the season and, apart from Iversen, he's better than the other three IMO at this level. Plus they'll want the Melbourne round to be a success with 3 Aussies plus Ward as the 16th man. Edited October 14, 2014 by Crump99
Trees
It's BSI's business they need to pick whoever will encourage more fans to come view their product and\or who sponsors want to see ..... oh well!

JCookie
THJ? Do not understand that, not a bright young thing any more and not even that good. Batchelor is loathsome but has done well, NKI and MJJ inevitable.

salty
Once Lindgren put himself out of the running THJ was always going to get the slot as the second Swede. Slightly surprised MJJ got the nod instead of Kildemand, I thought the latters performances in reaching 2 Finals out of 2, winning the World Team Cup and in the European meetings would have been enough.

Ghostwalker
I think perhaps that BSI/FIM felt that MJJ vs. PK were equal and that MJJ got it because he have been left out a few times before.

Kind of agree though MJJ was good value everytime he was in a GP this year. It was probably decided on a coin flip!
Hunty
They have just been annouced Australia’s Troy Batchelor, Danish duo Niels-Kristian Iversen and Michael Jepsen Jensen and Swedish champion Tomas H Jonasson have all been handed a coveted berth in next year’s World Championship. screm
NKI was a nailed on certainty, MJJ deserves a shot when you look at his performances in SGP this year. Not so sure about Batchelor and even less sure about Thomas H. Ward had better be banking a water tight defence as todays announcement ends any chance of being in SGP next year. They could hardly suspend him and then put him back in as a wild card.
TheReturn
Ward had better be banking a water tight defence as todays announcement ends any chance of being in SGP next year. It does already, they have announced 15 riders, so unless someone pulls out there is no Ward for the 2015 series, other than the occasional wild card entry no doubt. RPNY
Why would they pick Emil, he turned his back on it? I say it's a shame purely because the series would be better with him in it - plus Phil R hinted that he might be warming to the idea of riding in the series again..
