SCB
Stop making excuses. We all know MJJ and any other excuser are committed to their Swedish /Polish teams. What is that to do with his commitment to the EL?? What MJJ has done is no different to Pawlicki. Piotr has used the well rehearsed `sick note` routine. MJJ just said i want to ride for my Swedish team but not you. Just what is the difference??? They both stand for precisely the same point. Does it really matter how many?? If MJJ had signed from the start he probably would be on the same amount of excuses by now. Who is Pawlicki riding for tonight? Nobody. He just doesn't give a rubbish about Wolves. MJJ is in an impossible position, peolpe question his commitment but he has to ride for his Swedish team or his British team. Who should he pick? And why? Star Lady
I think we are at a crossroads SL, we either need to adapt the EL to accommodate these types of riders is less meetings, fewer race nights, squads. Or we need to only employ riders who are 100% committed to the fixture list and won't ever go AWOL. Some tough decisions to be made in the winter. I'd agree. Personally I'd go with the latter, probably doesn't surprise anyone who knows me . It might mean a watered down league for a few years but the plus side would hopefully be teams fans can relate to, riders who are loyal to a team, hopefully far more choices for young Brits. All of which in my eyes would be good for BRITISH speedway, It might even cut down on promoters expenses re air fares who knows. I fear they will adapt to suit the riders. Which in my view won't alter much at all. We will still end up with guests/rider replacements, young foreigners being given a team berth ahead of young Brits (with all the fixture clashes that entails), and next August we will still have multiple threads on here moaning that we have no GP riders (Woffy apart), too many guests, too many r/rs etc. In 40+ years of watching the sport not much changes sadly.

He's as mercinary as the rest of them. Also, can you imagine if a foreigner had done what he did last year? Ride in the GPs but not for wolves while injured. stevebrum
Guessing that SCB is Mystic Meg in disguise, Talking through the wrong end again. Unless he has contacts at Walsgrave Hospital and they know something other. BB is going back to Fracture Clinic today for assessment on damage. Then intensive physio. And I was there !. He will be back shortly but when all is good and not before, Who is Pawlicki riding for tonight? Nobody. He just doesn't give a rubbish about Wolves. MJJ is in an impossible position, peolpe question his commitment but he has to ride for his Swedish team or his British team. Who should he pick? And why? His commitment should be with the Bees as that was the official fixture before the Swedish one. Continue to make excuses for him but he is an EL user, proven yet again. Massive difference imo, as he clearly feels committed to his Swedish team. Pawlicki is probably just playing on his Xbox tonight... Dress it as you want. Neither rider wanted to ride in the EL tonight when both were expected too. No difference. Edited September 1, 2014 by stevebrum

I named Woffy as being a GBs only GP rider, not in context of loyalty.
Tommy Sweetman
Of course it does. This is exactly why it exists, to stop Poole for example signing a Wolves rider in time for the play-offs. As for MJJ being a "pi$$ taking foreigner" or showing no commitment. He is riding for his Swedish team that he has raced for all year, I believe he's been in their team for 4 season now. So actually, he's quite committed to them. He signed for Coventry mid-season, we can hardly expect him to put us first. Pawlicki on the other hand has had how many illnesses and now this? So why should different rules apply to speedway, that dont apply to other sports like footie. If a football team that wants to sign a player thats no longer under contract to any other team, then they are free to do so,regardless of any transfer deadline. The only difference is i suppose, that in speedway, that particular rider is still classed as an asset, and remains their rider even if he doesnt have a contract to ride for them. SCB
So why should different rules apply to speedway, that dont apply to other sports like footie. Because it's a different sport. Seriously, think about what you have just said there and you'll probably realise how silly it is
stevebrum
Because it's a different sport. Seriously, think about what you have just said there and you'll probably realise how silly it is Its a different sport so we follow different rules right? The rules that say if you don't put your EL commitments first then get lost?? Equally applied to 2 EL time wasters.
SteveLyric2
The sooner Woffy and others wake up to the fact that not 'all the top riders' like Mondays in the Uk - maybe things can move forward to the much more sensible Wednesday/Thursday EL option. ps. As Wolves have cancelled his contract, does that mean Pawlicki is still available to guest, when available??
stevebrum
Monday EL is the best option still, With SKY on a Monday its a good chance for the top boys to get their sponsors on the telly.

New Science
And I thought this was a Woverhampton v Leicester thread!!!Have to say with a heavy heart but these are the weakest line ups I've ever seen for an Elite league fixture at Monmore !
Lefty
As Wolves hosted Leicester only two weeks ago, could we hope for no parade and a first heat actually starting at 7:30pm. This would allow maximum time for r/r drag outs and starting gate gardening . Bring an extra biro to cover the proggy changes..... oh and a warm coat in case the expected bumper crowd doesn't turn up.
Leicester Lion
Could this be the smallest crowd for an EL match at Monmore?

And £17 quid for that quality with Schlein as a number one?? I will keep my money thanks.
dump that clutch
must admit, I've seen better PL line ups than these tonight... what is this sport doing to itself... (we need a shaking head emoticon)....
Wolfsbane
So if MJJ & Pawlicki have signed contracts and failed to honour them I assume Cov & Wolves will be suing them for breach? And now we know that the latter's sick notes were a sham(ek) will the individual who issued them be exposed and struck off? Just asking
BritPete
Baby Bjerre is doing far better than anyone would have thought. Maybe he's found his ideal track.
