Poole Pirates Vs Wolverhampton Wolves 3/9/2014

Recommended Posts

Well done Pirates on hard earned victory, but we did deserve something from tonight.

Pity we didnt show that spirit when it mattered.

Thanks to Bomber and Rory, just getting tuned in for the play-offs down in Dorset.

Newman the diffrence tonight !! Poole going to need him to stay healthy

Very much so.

Didn't see that dropped point coming, thought Poole would win comfortably. Unexpected low scores from Pirates second strings, just a blip or the effects of a long season taking their toll?

I'LL try again ... four weeks ago the Poole versus Wolverhampton meeting was a very attractive fixture featuring the World Champion (Woffinden) and, by common consensus, one of the most exciting and entertaining riders in the sport (Ward) and two of the brightest kids on the block (the Pawlicki brothers). Now, through a variety of unfortunate circumstances, all four will be missing,

The only answers available under the current regulations are guests and/or r/r which totally devalues the product. Until we find alternative ways of filling the gaps only the most ardent fans will put their hands in their pockets.

In a perfect world you would expect that in exceptional circumstances such as injuries there should be a facility to replace riders after the deadline.

However, because of the tendency for promoters to continually try and circumvent the rules you just know that any loophole would quickly have a cart and horses driven through it.

Tbh neither did i GB but that's the things go sometimes.Josh and Milik having off nights made the difference, but rather that now, than when it really matters. But fair play to Wolves a deserved point, good meeting.

Been riding brilliantly for a while now. really been on the gas at Brandon and was the same tonight

Bomber was terrific to watch at Belle Vue on Monday night too, great to see after his struggles, good timing as well with playoff time approaching.

Bomber has been riding well for a few months now. With bonus points he's Bees number 1 this season and has an averaging nudging 9. Probably is people see him adrift in the GP and assume he's the same in the EL, just not true. He has two poor meetings early on at Poole and Lakeside but since then had performed well everywhere- with the possible exception of Sunday at Leciester.

League Tables don't always provide accurate information of how teams are doing.

If you can read them its easy to work out.

Form guide obviously carries a lot of weight too.

Anyway good point from Wolves tonight.

Darcy is going to cost Poole the title as no guest is going to be adequate.

A great meeting - certainly one of the best I have seen at Poole - the racing was excellent.

Thanks to Bomber and Rory for sterling work - shame Jacob had his two engine failures when he did otherwise the score could have been even closer.

It would have been a travesty if Wolves hadn't picked up a consolation point from the meeting.

Agree with what you say Wolfe, a very enjoyable meeting, with some very good racing and we were in it all the way up to ht13, really thought we were in with a chance of springing an away win, if it was not for Jacobs e/f's we could have been looking at the win. A god meeting from Lasse, and two good performances from Schlein & Harris

working on what? You can't sign anyone and the only rider in the Elite league that could guest for you that could get close to Darcys scoring power is Zagar. And how often does he guest! And will he want to with making sure he retains his gp place? Doubt he would want extra meetings. If you keep getting guests in the play offs you will have the likes of Nicholls and Mads and Bjarne as people who can guest! Safe to say Darcys antics and the fact Poole didnt act quick enough looks to have cost them the league

As long as we dont get bjarne again we will be ok, it wasnt just him though, milik and josh were not good either but janowski is in great form, shame lasse wasnt riding for peterborough last night and he should have been by all accounts.
