teddy2706
Well done to Arthur Browning, still competing and still competetive!
pandorum
I used to love watching Arthur and his retractable leg. He could extend it to cover the whole track when he went into the bends Great rider and even greater character

OGT
It's a shame that nobody has written a book on AB, I'm sure it would be a tremendous read considering how much he's packed into his near 3 score and 10 years.

P T Preece
I went up to Hull and Arthur slid off, he got up and walked over to the hose pipe and hosed himself down, classic big A, great rider and team man.

bruno
It might be my memory playing up but I'm sure at cradley in the 70s he's handlebars snapped in one race but he managed to finish somehow
britmet
Arthur, . .Always remembered by me as the rider that jumped the canyon on a motorbike to deliver the box of Black Magic chocolates in the first such TV ad, .. . as well as many good times traveling the country with the Brum team in the early '70s in that silver Ford Cortina 1600E.Like Trigger's broom, it had done 250,000 miles and was on its third engine.. The Cortina towed a trailer, so said because though Arthur could get his bike on the back of it, he needed a trailer to carry his size 12 boots !
E I Addio
I have great memories of Arthur riding for Birmingham back in the Seventies. And he used to train on beer and fags. None of this fitness nonsense for him ! He was (is) a. great all rounder, having been a class motocrosser (I think he was a Greeves works rider at one point) ,half decent trials rider, and of course competetent if somewhat wild Speedwáy rider, as well as this current exploit. He must have a remarkable constitution to live his lifestyle and still be lapping the YT course at 90mph at his age.

More than 'half-decent' ! . . Arthur's highest levels of achievement in motorcycle sport were as a member of the British ISDT team (International Six Day Trial,) mostly on a big Cheney-Triumph, during both the '60s and all of the '70s, representing his country at senior level all over the world in the annual event, (which subsequently morphed into the ISDE.) . I was referring to observation trials rather than the ISDT, and I don't think he did enough of those to get to any sort of high standard. spinkox
I believe he had been using a Jawa 2 valve engine in some road races - is this still the case??
uk_martin
The most important bit has been missed...he's a damned decent darts player too! Arthur featured as a guest for the Birmingham Speedway Supporters Club team that beat Leicester (Ray Wilson and all) some years back. OGT
He did well to come back from the broken leg he sustained in the ISDT in Czecho in 1972. I remember there being a right old rigmarole to get him back over here. I also heard that he did the Cadbury's ad in one take, telling the director where to go when he asked him to do it again.
